HEre's my implementation.
1. 3 squads of 5, 1 platoon leader 2. Platoon leader has 3 chevrons above his head 3. only platoon leader can queue his team 4. if platoon leader backs out, it makes everyone back out with him.
I'm really getting frustrated with spending more time trying to get in a FW match than actually fighting in one. PLEASE, do some sort of team deploy for FW. I'm running out of hair to pull out.

Here's my implementation.
1. 3 squads of 5, 1 team leader 2. Team leader has 3 chevrons above his head 3. Only team leader can queue his team 4. If team leader backs out, it makes everyone back out with him.
EDIT: Okay, now that I've gotten some anger out, maybe I should flesh out this idea.
Everything above holds. When you go to create a squad, you get one option curently: Create Squad. There would be a second option there: Create Team. This makes you the team leader with 3 chevrons in battle. You can then invite people to your team, either single mercs or squads at a time. You cannot invite another team leader to your team. Now we can create a team for team deploy.
Now currently we can leave squad by bringing up the menu in squad chat and selecting "Leave Squad" My idea adds a second option "Leave Team" This allows for someone to leave their squad while not leaving the team. This is done in order to allow organization between the squads, for example if the platoon leader wants all his vehicle pilots in one squad, they can leave their current squads and join one vehicle squad without having to leave the team. Now we can organize the squads within our team to help with command.
Now in battle, the team leader can issue commands that everyone sees. These commands will be the same as squad commands. Team leader commands will all be yellow to differentiate them from squad commands. Squad leaders can also issue commands for their squad, which will appear as their current colors. Basically the only addition is the team leader commands which are all colored yellow so they stand out from squad commands. Now the team leader can direct his squads in battle for all to see and have his commands stand out from the usual ones.
If any of this is hard to understand, let me know and I'll rewrite it.

Songs of Seraphim wrote:I like this option/idea. But if also like if there was an "Kick From Team" option. Definitely a kick from team option. Similar to Remove From Squad that squad leaders have.

The rest of this sounds good in my opinion. 4. This only applies to queueing. In battle the team leader would just leave and everyone else would stay. But only the team leader can queue his team, and if he back out of the queue (to pick up people or switch to a new faction) his whole team backs out of the queue with him.

P14GU3 wrote:Your ideas (along with everyone else,) seems pretty solid. I'm not sure when the proposed squad changes are supposed to go through, but it might be better to compose a team of 4 4-man squads instead of 3 5-man. 3 5-mans allows a space for the team leader.

But factional and PC only. This. What if you don't have a complete team, by the way? Would it still be possible to go on with 2-5man squads and the 3rd being only two people and a team leader? Absolutely. The team is basically a modified squad. You can deploy with less than a full squad, so why not less than a full team? All this does is make queuing for FW and PC easier.

The rest of this sounds good in my opinion. Maybe if the Team Lead leaves, Squad 1's Squad lead gets "promoted" to Team lead, and Squad 1 player 2 gets bumped to Squad Lead. It is only opening 1 slot in 1 squad and allows for reshuffling within the groups without having to boot the ENTIRE team. 4 only applies to getting into matches. Like if a team leader docs or rage quits mid-battle, his team doesn't back out. But if he queues for Caldari and decides to switch to minmatar and he backs out of the search, his whole team stops searching as well.
