I would love to see the names of my allies so i don't shoot them on site. the Crosshairs don't always quickly turn to red when over an enemy (particularly a problem when a fair distance away). If i was able to see My allies nametag it would really help to tell the difference of who is enemy and who is ally. This is a big thing, as my first 3 battles in-game i had 3 ally kills each game thinking it was the enemy.
Is there an option im missing that helps here? |

Yeah, two options actually. They're both on automatically. If you hover your curser over a teammate their name will pop up. Also, you have this "use minimap" option which should help you out with the problem you're facing. |

this is not good as it does not help instant recognition. im not going to take 2 seconds to figure out if the guy i just came up to is ally or not. By the time i find out, i could be dead....
Having ally name plates on all the time allows for instant recognition of friend or foe. |

I think that having names over your friendlies head is a very good idea. The vast majority of time I have no clue who is who and end up taking damage from the enemy before I can shoot back.
No name = enemy Name = friendly
It's a very simple solution and would ease alot of players minds, trust us! |

I know I've had at least two, possibly three, friendly kills because I simply couldn't tell friend from foe.
I'm sure the poor folks were probably wondering why they were being shot by an ostensible teammate. Sorry about that, just in case they're reading this thread.
FWIW, I think Zipper's MAG had a fine system for telling friend from foe, including faction-specific uniforms/armor and a nice big, red triangle above anyone who wasn't on your team (plus, they appeared as literal "red dots" on the mini-map. Of course, since I'm red/green colorblind, it was my version of red, if that makes any sense. |

I have to agree on this. the color marker helps but... i had one opponent run by me ignoring me, (winch i amuse he thought i was one his team.) and another opponent who guarded me while i was running towards his defense objective. |

I don't have a single problem distinguishing friend from foe. I have a question for the TC, are you playing in SD or HD?
I play in HD and I get "chevrons" or "carrots" above both friendly and enemy's heads. sometimes in very close quarters, when someone is right up on me, I shoot on sight, cause i can't see names, as they are too close, but it doesn't take long to see if they are friend or foe.
also, if you put nametags above all friendlies heads, it would be EXTREMELY confusing in "balls", where there are a heavy concentration of players. all you'd see are friendlies.
instead maybe just put (bigger? brighter?) blue marks above friendlies that are Chevrons (^) and bright red v shapes above enemies heads. that way it is even easier to distinguish.
That said, I would be fine if they left it the way it was (for me, anyway) and just fixed it so EVERYONE could see it (apparently it's currently bugged) |

If you glance at your minimap every once and awhile that would help. Just check the positions of the nearby friendlies and if there is someone out of place than it's the enemy. I have had no problems with TKing |
