I think we need a new metric in pubs, along with the kill/death ratio and WPs. It should show how much ISK you gained/lost, and it should be visible for everyone in that match to see. I think this will add a different perspective to this game, especially for new players. They need to understand that one of the main goals for them is to remain ISK positive, no matter what their kill/death ratio is.
And I think this should be an GÇ£actualGÇ¥ number, meaning, if youGÇÖre wearing BPOs and die 20 times, it wonGÇÖt reflect in ISK lost; you didnGÇÖt actually lose ISK.
Think of it as a small audit after every battle.
I know, from my perspective, if I had this metric when I was a noob, I wouldnGÇÖt have felt so bad after dying 20 times because I could see that I actually gained more ISK than the guy that died 4 times but was wearing proto the entire time.
Thoughts?

Do you think that would be a bad thing? To me, I see that as a positive because at least noobs would stay in the fight and continue to push objectives.
Maybe? Maybe not? |

+1
Yes, from a corporate standpoint, I only care about profit and wins/losses. I don't care how you won, as long as you made a profit. And I'm sure there are times I don't care if you lose, as long as you make me a profit. |

I'm a numbers guy, and I think it would be pretty cool to see how the player base ranks when it comes to this metric. I simply think we need to push new players to this type of thought process. Don't hound them with KDR. KDR doesn't matter. |

In the Dust I picture in my mind, total ISK destroyed in a match would be displayed on the EoM as well as the total ISK you lost on fittings and vehicles. This would be proudly displayed front and center with plenty of data on exactly what you destroyed and who you cost the most ISK as well as who cut the most out of your profits. Below that data would be WP totals for Kills, Assists, Vehicle Damage, Triage, Team Resupply, Etc. Tucked away in a corner there would be a KDR read-out with minimal fanfare.
Good ideas.
And, don't lie, KDR only matters to you because you proudly display it in your house, above your fireplace. I can already see it; you print it off in large Old English text, 72 font. |

One day I hope to present my KDR to the Gods of gaming that are THIRDROCK in the hopes that I too can be considered pro MLG, 360 no scope, no items, final destination, diamond tier... In my corp the running joke is some players probably swagger up to women, "Hey sweetie, I have a 9.0 KDR in a F2P first-person shooter called DUST 514..."
Are you saying I shouldn't use that line if I'm ever single again?
Never mind, I'll never be single again. |

Me, too. I put prices on all my suits. But I want ISK Gain to be a focal point for everyone to see. Yes, that guy just went 32-2, but he actually lost ISK. Or that Logi just went 0-7, but he made a ton of ISK. |

I don't care about K/D rate because every kill/death I get is different fits and siuts so it's not like I can say I'm a bad as at killing THIS, or THIS always gets me. And sometimes we have to suiside or get killed by the game do to lag, hit detection and other crap more than we do to players themselves.
I don't care about those stats simply because they are untrustworthy.
I ONLY CARE ABOUT ISK. LP AND SP.
You can tell I'm Caldari can't you ?
From my merc's perspective, I completely agree. I only care about ISK and SP. (I don't care at all about LP, personally).
However, from the perspective of the businesses hiring us for public contracts, I'm sure they do care about wins and losses, since they are most likely paying us to win the battle. That's the reason I think it's important. |

There have been times when I am placed in a match with the enemy MCC is at nearly 100% shields and ours is at 50% armor. I will be given a defeat when I had very little, if any, influence on that battle. You dig?
Yep, I diggity dig it. But that's a different issue that can be fixed. Also, it impacts everyone the same. I'm almost positive everyone gets into those matches.
I was just explaining that if I was running one of these businesses in Dust 514--or the EvE universe--I would pay attention to wins/losses. I wouldn't want to hear excuses because, again, everyone is handed the same issue of being put into crap matches. |

If you always run with a full squad it almost never happens.
Full squad? I don't even remember what that's like. |
