as the builds progress i will see how things develop and from there decide how i can best help the corp, but for now there is the NDA so any guides and such will be stalled...ive got a little NDA friendly tutorial for tankish stuff on EV already, and obviously anyone is free to pick my brain for help. also, i think ive recruited this guy whos a pretty damn good dedicated gunner, which i think ted and younggunz would also like...

basically alls i ever wanted in my life is to command a tank squad under the banner of STB baby jesus...
I know how tactics work, especially how they mesh with other active squads outside of my own fireteam and how to apply them.

Oh, i also would like to talk to you in order to get a basic preliminary framework done for the subsidization of rSTB esources when you can. Ted and i were talking about it a day or two ago and came up with some more realistic ideas. The problem here is we cant have people complaining about a lack of funding or favorites playing....it has to be clear cut and ultimately unforgiving in the case of underperformance. You have the last say on this obviously , but anything that promotes effort and performance on the cell side of the equation is a must, plus resources can be expensive in the case of having to sacrifice a cell for any kind of diversion/retreat/blah blah blah tactics......

And, yes. To any fellow mercs out there reading this thread out of curiosity, serious interest, what-have-you.....STB is a fantastic corporation. I was never really one for "clan" based play since they were neither good/dedicated, nor did they have any kind of respectable leadership. STB turned out to be the group that proved me wrong. I have had a fantastic time with the guys, who are not only great guys, but they know what they are doing and the cogs mesh without baby jesus even having to give the orders. There are systems in place to make sure members are taken care of, such as the tentative STB Insurance Policy, and positions are completely merit based, not based on favoritism or corruption.
STB is a wave, and you can either ride it with us or try and stand in its way. If you choose the latter, you can bet your fitting were gonna bend you over and pull those pants down. |

On a quick sidenote, I just read read some of the early posts in this thread and lol at the people trashing Quick for starting a recruitment thread. Just wanted to clarify....
I was not actually thinking about going commander...In my opinion, that is something only the leaders should use. I believe I have neither played long enough with STB to warrant their unwavering obedience in the same way they follow quickgloves, nor do I think i would be the most efficient on the battlefield outside of ground armor. Trust in any leadership of mine is something I will have to build through actual invested time with STB, and i certainly do not expect the ranks to simply listen to me just because i put on a commander suit. I believe STB would want me in the role i am best at so i can fight effectively and share my beta knowledge with corp members when they need it.
I was curious as to quickgloves intentions since the leader does not always want to be in a retracted position on the battlefield. Sometimes they just need to be blowing **** up. I would say tho, that this is why STB is worthwhile. The leader isnt foolish and will perform in a way that best benefits his team.
Quickgloves, i am glad you see the big picture and are thinking along the same lines as i am. Im excited to be on the field with ya. +1

I like where your coming form. I find the suppressive weapons like the mass driver and hmg fun. AR is boring and smg is just a needed backup for my forge gun main. Remember, this is based on the probably now obsolete numbers from the E3 build, so dont put all your eggs in one basket here....
Mass driver is best suppression weapon, but not great for head on fights. It will probably be used in logi fits as a support area denial type weapon. I see it only being good for clearing out an area saturated with enemies before teammates go in. The damage makes it so you probably wont get much kills, but a hell of a lot of assists.
The HMG is just a beast of a weapon made for simply mowing down the enemy. You have to watch your gun to make sure it doesnt overheat, but it basically utilizes the heavy suits strengths better than just about any other weapon you can use. This is also a weapon with a lot of potential as a suppressive tool, but has an added bonus of being able to get kills fast if used correctly. Downside is a lack of good AV applicability.
As i see it, if you must use one of the two, use mass drivers if your are wanting to play in a supportive role or the hmg f you want to be the bulwark of your team's offensive efforts on an objective. |

we have a very active ventrilo channel that all the stb guys are on every hour of every day of the beta and we q-sync all the time. We have a tentative insurance policy as well that you can find on page 8 of this thread. This is completely separate from the method of payment STB will use for its members. STB takes it upon itself to insure its members as a bonus to dedicated and competent play.
once you get accepted to the STB site, go ahead and state your name and who recruited you (me) on the recruitment/roster thread and then also make sure to read the codex on the EV site once you get accepted there. If your an EVE guy, im sure youll be really excited after seeing the codex.
If your interested in using your EVE assets to help out, you can, just it will have to be for STB and not for the EV since the EV has no forseeable plans to belong to an official EVE alliance. If you ahve any problems with that, we can talk about that in more detail for sure. |

not gonna argue about jobs, your right, Canada is better off right now. Big government is killing us and the country is currently full of people who settle and game the system for welfare. Not everyone is out for handouts. I know this. Somehow tho, almost 9 million people are receiving disability benefits from the government now when in the early 1990's it was only around the low 3 million mark. This isn't some third world country, jobs arent dangerous at the levels where there is such a large jump in entitlements.

im seeing very little in the way of unhappiness compared to all the awesome that has come with the patch. Ted and i are gonna be a recurring group i hope. we simply work well together. Draw distance is sick and the additions to ground armor have been overwhelmingly interesting. Cooldown on an overheated railgun is like 15 seconds now for my gun.
The maps.......the maps.
Once we get off the ****** servers and on to sisi, the framerate issues and such should also be a lot better.
I love the squad system and think it works great. Playing as a fire team is very good for the wins. We will have corp chat later so im not too worried. |

Quick doesn't have sp in anything...he never plays anymore because he works late and is busy on the EVE side of things so when you say you killed a tank of his, that means two things:
#1 your lying because quick doesnt use tanks, ever (he might have called one out drunk but its completely unspecced and unfitted)
#2 your bragging about killing a tank that is so weak it spontaneously combusts when you fart in its direction

So STB is part of the Unclaimed alliance, which can be seen under your tags on your avatar to the left of the posts in the forum. Recruiting and other dealings from the EVE side of things require a special attention and a lot of background checking due to the higher potential risk and consequences, so these types of things need to be handled by someone with the proper rank such as Quickgloves or Ted. I will forward your message to them as soon as I see them, but I am sure one of them will see this on their own anyway.

Just wanted to let some peeps know that STB partnered with Subdreddit to put out a tutorial video on Youtube for up and coming tankers. Take a look if your interested in tanks and this type of training, as well as ingame squadding, can be expected for all new recruits and those in our corp who ask for it (obviously in a better format than a 15 minute flood of info like in the vid). We are happy to train everyone in all fittings, so join STB and get gud!
