I ragequit a caldari q-sync earlier today. Too many people not listening.
Planning a 'meeting' of sorts where we try to optimise things in caldari fw channels with some basic ground rules.
-Don't join audio and ask for invite to squads/if we're syncing currently/if we're in match. It's incredibly rude as it disrupts comms discipline and if you just listen for a little bit you can find things out.
-If you're not willing to join the sync as we're forming be prepared to sit out for a LONG time. As much as I hate playing favorites, if you only want an invite after a qsync is running I'll be much less likely to pick you up over someone who is there the moment we decide to start syncing.
-Don't try trading in the fw channels, especially over audio. It slows everything to a complete ****ing crawl.
-When you join a squad list the roles you're capable of. Not everyone knows everything about everyone else and it allows us to potentially restructure squads so that everyone has links / logi's / slayers.
-Vehicles should be upon request/permission. I see a lot of people pull out vehicles on maps that are in no way suited for them... or it's possible to end up with 4-5 dropships flying around in one match when we really need boots on the ground. Ask your squadlead if you can call a vehicle out for [purpose]... Recall it once [purpose] is fulfilled.
-Be on audio, do as your squadlead asks and play as a team. If you're supposed to be guarding a point, guard it. You shouldn't be on the other end of the map when your squadleader is going "we need help at this point!". If you have a mic and you see an opportunity to take advantage of a situation (like there's an objective out in the open that you'd have a clear shot into with a sniper) mention it to your squadlead and get permission to do it - many squadleads are entirely reasonable and will listen to good ideas when they hear them. I've even had players without mics stop and mail me in game when an objective had no action about an idea they had and they were given permission for it.
-Do not ever infight, insult people or teamkill. These are all behaviours that cause failure cascades and complete breakdown of order. People respect you less for doing it and are less likely to listen to anything you have to say in the future. I have at least one person blocked and I will never pick him up because of these behaviours. On the occasions when he becomes a squadlead and I have to unblock him, I find that the queue sync takes on an entirely different (and often poor) mood. Honestly had a few talks about just outright removing 'toxic' players as they can do a massive amount of damage to a sync.
-Don't rage over comms or give play by plays. They're both annoying for very different reasons but primarily they make it impossible to get or give actually important information, and they can really upset other players.
-Try not to shoot the crap between matches especially when it leads to 20 minutes of sitting around twiddling our thumbs instead of playing. We have people go afk because of this or outright leave squads because they're not getting matches. Keep things rolling.
There's more that could be said, but they're mostly doctrinal things.
