I know many of us suffer of framerate drops, within a certain level you can still play the game efficiently, but if you are walking in the middle of the street and a second later you find yourself hitting your head on a red supply depot surrounded by enemies, then it's better to leave the match. So here a list of things you can do to help the team when you can at least walk:
Logi stuff: this is the best choice, you will still have problem locking people with reppers, but you can always drop hives, links and scan. When you are running out of equipment, go back to a supply depot and change your dropsuit.
Scout stuff: try to avoid the red as much as you can, use cloak and drop links in low frequented zones of the map. Hack installations, but try to avoid objectives if you are alone, they focus unwanted attention.
Assault/Sentinel: shooting stuff is the less recomandable thing to do, but if you can't do anything else, try to not go Rambo and to not waste resources aka spamming nades and deplete hives.
Weapons: Always automatic, you have more chance to hit your opponent. Don't bother sniping, you will not hit, don't try to AV (swarm will be difficult to lock, FG may misfire, good luck with PLC)
Modules: Stack HP, your awareness does not count when you can't understand what is happening in real time, have more HP may save your life.
Vehicles: You should avoid calling vehicles, fast vehicles are to avoid as ebola, if you really can't do otherwise, in order from better to worst, HAV, LAV, DS.

Remember, just because you're getting framerate drops doesn't mean everyone else is. Earlier today, someone in my squad mentioned how hard it is to aim with the low framerate. My framerate, meanwhile, was completely smooth.

I'll also say, try to stay cool in your squad. I know it's hard. REALLY hard. I'm guilty of it so often, but being on both the skippy framerate from hell side and the perfectly smooth side, it's unbelievable how much your personal lamenting/shouting/being useless over the framerate in that single match can bring down the morale of your squad pretty badly.
For the *most* part, we all know the maps that give us the most grief and sometimes it's hard to keep in perspective that the lag will end with this match and a new one will come (even if it sucks suffering through this one).
As for the lag that persists, ...yeah :/
