Sadly, I am not one of them. But I am wondering how it's going?
Partly because Dust is such a grind compared to my time in PS2. However, I am just not that much into KB/M game play. I am hoping they have figured out the game controller input, cause the last pass sucked on the PC. Yes, I only play PS2 on my PC. Sigh.
On the other hand, they changed the visuals for some of the heavy weapons. I saw a TR Max with this really weird HMG, it had really long barrels. It was the Mercy, it just look much better. Wicked looking. I am addicted to my rockets though. Mercy might well be on my list soon though.
The VS Max anti-infantry visual update is ... cute. Sort of like mittens. Mittens that spew death.
Anyway, if you play Planetside 2 Beta (still, I think) on the PlayStation 4, I would love to read a review. At the least I am hoping they have the game controller usable. As it is flying is nearly impossible for me. Which is fine mostly, I still prefer tanking, heavy assault and Max.

JIMvc2 wrote:I'm waiting for MAG and I hope Sony makes it or someone. No MAG no ps4 = Sony ain't getting my money. Its simple as that. MAG is dead. And I mean deader than Dust. They ripped the server/network code out of the product, laid off some of the staff, waited awhile longer and nuked the developer studio.
The entire push was their fancy server/network solution that would enable 64v64 play. That didn't last long at all. It got gutted and standard FPS bits were put in place. Since it was a Sony owned studio, the tech belongs to Sony and they killed it along with the studio.
Sorry, go murderize some Reds.

Skyline Lonewolf wrote: the devs are taking in a lot of feedback from the beta testers though and the controller is very optimized with multiple layout options from various FPSes. there's also sensitivity sliders for infantry and vehicles, though in my last playtest, it needed tweaking due to oversensitivity. game will smooth out by release and the populations will eventually even out im sure.
Thanks for the feedback. My biggest issue is that I really don't care for KB/M gaming. Not relaxing for me. Well, that and I haven't convinced anyone to buy me a PS4. Damned fool kids, going to college, having kids and not looking at my wish list.
The PC version has population issues only during those times you would suspect that most of the server base is sleeping. EU actually gets rather busy early in the morning (7AM), I have no idea why. US West (where I am) is in good shape 90% of the time, when the most of the server pop is active. All three servers I can access have the four continents playable.
Typically I can find several fights that are 48/48 to > 96+/96+ with a little looking. If I drop in during my evening, no problem finding a decent battle. Off hours I might have to move to a different continent but with four active I can usually find some place to play war. Even if they have a continent or two locked down there is a fight going on somewhere.

TEBOW BAGGINS wrote:It's full blown awesome we are now seeing zones of 96 vs 96 on all continents as of last week. The contoller works beautiful for aircraft. The game comms are still broke tho. So theres not really a sense of community yet unless you wanna tryout for an outfit, the one i was going for annoyed the sht out of me, i hear enuff whining at work- final straw was a guy with jetpack btching me out because my engineer couldnt keep up with him, and they said "this isn't like dust, galaxies have no role here", (spoken as if dust dropships were a game changer) then he saw me fly a gal and they all tried to become gal and valk pilots the next day. Had to argue with the kno it all leader that valks can spawn troops if equipped right. Aside from dealing with console beta elitist retaards the graphics need optimizing, theres screen tear and some fps stutters. A lot of zerg with some teamplay here and there. Zerg rushes seem to be common in PS2. Very, very true.
I also see weird activity that comms would solve. My PC isn't mic equipped (W* is a blasted pain) but I switch to Heavy Assault and head for the point. Repeatedly. Eventually some of them catch on. Same actions with vehicles will turn the tide as well.
New Berries every where you look sometimes.
I look forward to the PC having decent controller support. And a less busy UI.
Thanks Tebow.

Now that I am moving to PS4, I will hope to play it soon. (As in whenever it becomes available to me) I look forward to finally catching up with you when we both has a PS4.
Sometime this summer if things pan out. Or if things would just leave me alone long enough to finish the Honey-Do list, and leave me enough cash to buy one.
Good Luck.
