well it sounds like some of you are still getting matches ok. But for the most part, I think it sounds like MOST are having some difficulty getting full matches on a regular basis. I like the idea of having an option to turn on or off for whether or not you are willing to join matches in progress. Either way, we all know that there are not a ton of players on Dust so trying to split people up with matchmaking seems like it would make the lopsided (or long wait times) inevitable.
Maybe they could just keep the match making but change back to allowing players to join battles already in progress- just make sure someone joining half way through gets an ISK or WP bonus so it's still worth joining the match. I remember always seeing someone leave a match only to be replaced within a minute or seconds. This no longer happens.
In fact, there are probably no newer players that actually play so there may no longer be a need for matchmaking anyway; that was an old arguement (that I never cared about personally). The diversity of equipment and play styles also helps negate the need for MM.
BTW i don't complain too often on the forums, but this issue has me very concerned. |

I think match making would never have been much of a thought if it weren't for the (early days) broken PC mechanics that allowed these large corps to horde hundreds of millions of FREE ISK from the broken PC mechanics. Those guys were the ones who came in with their full corp squads and free money and proto-stomped the hell out of everyone to the point that people wanted a way to NOT have to match up with people like that; hence the idea of matchmaking. This also deterred new players and even some vets from wanting to play the game at all.
The whole downfall of this game is largely due to the old broken PC mechanic (which of course falls to blaming CCP for allowing that ******** function to be possible in the first place, and then taking too long to fix it).
The PC mechanics are fine now, but the damage had already been done and it's old news. They should have tracked the free ISK when the issue first arose and repo'd it. |

And to top it all off, it didn't even seem to make a difference on matching people up with others of equal skill because I still run into both hardened killers and complete morons in the same matches.
If we can't fill battles anymore, I probably speak for others as well that the game has finally lost it's playability.

now go back to your pro suit all look alike friends and count down from 5 to try and rig a match !

Let's break it down:
- Non-playing forum lurker calls remaining player base "cry babies" who ruined the game
- Said lurker accuses remaining player base of poverty or addiction
- Hero pub-star (me) accuses lurker of rage-quitting and/or living in the family basement and unhappy that he was forced to give up PS3 and Dust to have a shiny new PS4.
- Hero pub-star (me) tells non-playing forum lurker to biomass (hence removing him from the forums)
Lern 2 reed, butthurt forum warrior (you)! I don't want any more players to leave, but forum-lurkers who pan those of us still enjoying the game can get bent.
As for being a fan of CCP? Of courseGǪI enjoy their game immensely, and support it with Aurum purchases, even after they nerfed ADS's literally into the ground.

*sigh* First match of the day = domination 12 vs 9 -- 3 of the 9 quit then 2 more. entirety of match was 4 vs 12...fun. I had to just run around with a dampened cloak scout and hack stuff and run, that's it. getting boring real fast... I really don't want to leave Dust right after I got all my skills where I wanted them. I was just getting a good variety of weapons maxed... |
