Can complain all you want but the Gallente Logi is probably one of the most under-powered roles in the game. You don't even get WP rewards for scanning for the entire team so the only thing you really get out of that is FGP (feel good points).
Even still, with the way cooldowns are with those things, you basically have to run all scanners in your equipment slot if you want to maintain awareness on the enemy but that also means you take a gun out of your hand. I really can't stand it when people say that they invalidate passive scans because it really isn't the case - you can shoot while maintaining passive scans. Passive scans are also 360 degrees of coverage, constantly going. There's no cooldowns, angles, or visibility times and you're not having to hold it in your hand for it to work.
-Shrug- Try running dedicated Scan Gal Logi sometime, see how annoying that can get. Also, be sure to record your voice comms whenever you rage out at the fact that even with all skills level 5 and all prototype gear you can't scan down some Scouts that insta-gib you with a shotgun/nova knives.

So much is wrong with this. If it weren't a Gallente unit doing it, you'd be on fire about permascan. There's nothing UP about the GalLogi. I run it often, and it is straight-up broken. I may not make much WP from scans, but I can permascan entire matches of Dom, Acq and Bush at negligible risk. All by myself. For my entire team. My GalLogi's 21 dB team-wide active scans are broken, at 3 cPEs it's passive scans are as good as any recon scouts -- and unlike a recon scout -- at 600+ HP it can hold its owns in a fight.

I really don't care about being permascanned. Go watch some of my videos and you'll see that I very rarely fit profile dampeners. I don't hide from my opponent, never have. Congrats, you can see me, now deal with me. Suppose your White Card in the Dust 514 Cards Against Humanity bit is spot on with the Ad Hominem though.
Congrats on being able to permascan in pubs. No, really, I'm impressed, so impressed that I'm just spilling over the brim with sarcasm. Also, you're a failure and an idiot if you're putting on PEs on a Gallente Logi, for real. Comparing the Gal Logi's recon ability to the Scout's is also some serious derp because they're designed for different things. You don't see Gallente Logi's running around with the ability to fit long-lasting cloaking devices, inherent low profiles, and fast movement speed. 600+ HP is great when you're standing still. Doesn't help worth a damn when you have to move. You're also not hiding from anyone, no matter how well you can see them.
But yanno, what would I know, I'm just a terribad Gallente roleplayer (even though I'm an Intaki secessionist who has proto Minmatar Commando/Assault/Logi and am working on Caldari Logi/Assault).

A nerf would be alright, but a buff to passive scans would be even better. Allow other suits to compete. Dodging scans isn't all that difficult, 2-3 dampeners hides you completely. I wouldn't mind seeing the skill changed either, let it be total time scanned, or scan radius or range, or all of the above. Would make something so powerful be a little easier to avoid, but at that point, if people still complained, they'd have only themselves to blame.
I dislike homogenization of battlefield roles.

I've got nothing against the Gallogi bonus or shared scans, in principle. In FW and PC it belongs, and now that we have two tier matchmaking it's not as burningly critical an issue as it once was. If i was modifying the Gallogi for pubs maybe require squadmates to be within a certain range of their Logis if they want to benefit from shared scans. This is bringing back memories of how against tacnet-based equipment bonuses i was back then - information asymmetry is tremendously powerful in any situation. But to answer your question, if the scanner bonus were removed from Gallogis, i suppose i'd want the bonus to be armor-based. Maybe split the repair tool bonus into range and rate and give one mostly to Min and one mostly to Gall. Or give Gall a flat-out bonus to all armor repair, be it from hives or repair tools. *Braces for incoming flaming*
It's not a terrible idea. Fits with their combat philosophy. I like the idea of requiring squad-mates to be within a certain range to benefit from shared scans though, not gonna lie. Just seems to make more sense. Although, as a sniper, I kind of worry that there'd be a limitation in the tactical viability of a Scanner + Sniper combo.
