Your MCC will still take damage even if you are holding the only null cannon in a Domination match. This means even if you recapture the null cannon from the enemy, if your MCC's health is too low in relation to theirs, all they have to do is wait you out. Remove this damage to allow underdog efforts to actually facilitate a comeback. |

HmmmmGǪ..
I watched that exact event happen (in my team's favor, and in a later match, to the enemy team's favor), and I think it pretty much makes sense the way it is now.
GǪIn any match mode containing opposing MCCs, you'll see the two MCC's in constant missile-plugging match with each other. Though no one's ever tried it yetGǪ if BOTH sides agreed not to make a move against each other or against the NEUT null cannons (so they all stay neut-yellow), every match would play out automatically, with one of the MCC's blowing up FIRST from enemy MCC fire--and the other team getting an "auto" victory.
It feels as if our fight on the ground is really just the last extension of a battle that's been going on between Capsuleers' ships above the atmosphere and right down to the MCC's trying to push each other out of the airspace. Which, logically makes sense, and is the way you'd expect a battle for real estate to be like.
Don't think I'm dead-opposed to the way you feel, TheEnd. I cheer for the underdog too. ButGǪ Underdogs keep trying---they're plucky, and that's why we love 'em, and want to give them an extra chance.
My matches last night were not just a loss due to the "auto" firing between MCC's. It was also because the "losing" team voluntarily discarded their fighting-spirit very early in the match, and decided to consider themselves the "losing team" before the match was even half through or before their side had even suffered any severely lopsided clone loss. With some simple cohesive grouping in an attack, or even a little effort to use the uplinks and support that was being deployed for them, they would not be "the losing team", and they had no justification to believe that they WERE the losers. GǪThey just had no spirit to want to "try attacking again, but differently this time".
GǪ.And if a player doesn't bring that kind of spirit in a game about "attacking" and combat, then she doesn't deserve a free mechanism to allow an underdog comeback.
Universe of good wishes for the 49, especially CCP Eterne...

they wont remove it, if it was removed a match could take a very long time to complete costing them money for the session hosting on the server

I agree with the OP. There is a clone limit so matches can't be farmed forever and if one side is dominant the match won't go on forever anyway. I hate when one side has to give up instead of going for a comeback. |

Perhaps MCC missiles should be replaced with some form of "flux" based projectile, which only does damage to shields... Once shields are out, it's all down to the cannons.
Maybe even add in a way to fire a beefy missile with enough war pts, so squad leaders can choose between a few easy space kills or dealing a little more damage to the enemy MCC (would be interesting in close battles.) |

there's really very little value to removing the MCC crossfire.

Removing passive damage is very needed.
I have watched so many matches go to crap just because the team thought we had done enough damage that there was no need to defend the letter. This grey area leaves people guessing and some of those guess too early.
We should have to fight it out to the end. The clone count ensures it does not drag on forever so what use is passive damage other than a cushion? |
