Watch your heat. Seriously.
Somas and sicas are easy with a Freedom AHMG.
But smart HAV fits content yourself with scaring them unless there is multiple AV

Kallas Hallytyr wrote:I've been having strange issues with the efficacy ratings. Playing last night, my STD AHMG only read as single digit efficacy against various types of vehicle, including LAVs, at very short (0-20m) ranges, while my squadmate was reading in the 50's at 90m. I tried various tiers of AHMG, but I haven't noticed any distance.
What kind of efficacies are they supposed to have, for reference? The STD AHMG is still bugged.
Its supposed to be 100% baseline

Dead Cavino wrote:Do you get damage points with the AHMG? Even if you don't get the finishing blow? I know you don't with small blasters I'm not actually sure if the AHMG gets vehiclee ripping bonus WP.
I'll have to pay more attention. I've been trying to perfect my LAV ramming a tank and jumping out to massage the weakspot maneuver. Not paying attention to UI spam.

Bad tankers die.
But it's really simple tito move out of range as optimal is only about 40m and the gun will overheat before it kills you unless you stick around while it cools or he puts every round between the HAVs buttcheeks for a lead enema.
The ahmg is an excellent LAV killer. It can make an ADS panic and back off. But it is not a primaary AV weapon.
But I can't complain about that because it's fking fun to use.

Bright Cloud wrote:Still dont like it. It performs sub par as AV and that goes aswell the same for infantry gameplay. Works just fine vs. Infantry.

I have mentioned in the forums before about discovering a truly evil suit fit a couple months back. Now it looks like the cat is out of the bag. (Well mostly) I will let people discover for themselves the different fittings for the playstyle they like. I have been putting the fear in tanks before the AHMG had it's changes. Rattati I am sure you can go through my gameplay logs and discover what I use. You should try it out. it is a blast. -Marcus
it's called a calsent, followed closely by a minsent

Pics or it didn't happen. on the road between the buildings in the top spawn on train map, acq mode I took an AHMG to the ass-end of a HAV, didn't scratch the thing You have to use the MO-4 or freedom. The standard is bugged still.

In this case it's just a database error that will lilely be corrected sooner or later. It's not like the MO-4 is horridly expensive until then fortunately.

That sounds like it is just where it should be. We would not want it competing with the Forge Gun. The AHMG is still supposed to be primarily an anti infantry weapon, while the Forge is primarily AV. The crossover on both weapons make them fun though. Agreed but the minmatar need a dedicated AV weapon badly. I was hoping the AHMG would be it, but I'm happy with the direction Rattati took it in. Overall it's a definitive squad close support weapon. Buckets of killing power without the old boundless instablap.
Overall I find if my enemy is kitted to kill my primary tank type then the battle using the AHMG is far from stacked in my favor in my optimal. I have a clear advantage, but a good fighter can put my sentinel suits down 1v1. I'm liking my dynamic.
On the flip side, an assault kitted to kill the wrong tank has a very difficult time overcoming the AHMG within its optimal. Ie scramblers or plasma vs my amarr or gallente fits or rail and combat rifles vs my min/cal sents.
My calsent tears armor tanked sentinels to ribbons. Usually.
All in all I think the dynamic of the AHMG is far more useful to the game than the old HMG meta. It's also more fun to have to think a bit more than your average bulldozer.
But that's me. Your mileage may vary.

Breakin Stuff, when are you going to grace us with your presence over in The Bastion thread. You are such a pillar of the Sentinel community it feels like a two legged stool without you. Because I read three pages of the barbershop and vomited on my keyboard after reading that ridiculous circllejerk.
Sentinel version of the barbershop got my hackles up instinctively. I hate echo chambers.
