4 Myofibs on my Min Assault and I am jumping only half as high as before? Hmm. I traded 4 complex shield extenders just to jump. That is 290 shields MOFO!
Now there is nothing fun left. Nova Knives are took easy and boring. Everything has been stripped of me.
I didn't care if assaults were jumping really high. They had the HP of a scout, the speed of an Assault, and the scanning abilities of an Assault.
There was nothing OP about 5 myofibs just as there is nothing OP about stacking 5 shield extenders. We made a sacrifice. We sacrificed literally all of the possible high slot modules for the ability to jump ontop of a crate. Now what can I do with 5 myofibs? I can jump over a rail.
Thanks CCP.
You destroyed a play style. You took away the fresh air.
Why is jumping around even scrubby? Maybe you're the scrub walking around with as much HP on an Assault as a Heavy.

Yeah, so sick of all that rampant MyoStim abuse. Oh wait, the novelty wore off for most people after the first week. HP and Damage Mod stacking is still the way to go. I see maybe one or two MyoStim stackers a match.
People find myofib users annoying because they can't kill us in 2 secs like everyone else because we can evade them.

Do you play a min scout? I do. I also put 3 complex myofibs on it and I'm barley getting ontop of the crates by like 2-3 inches.

definitely not. I am on crate. I have roughly 220 ehp. Now what? What did I gain? I had to use all my high slots to jump on this crate which costed me 216 shields.

I'd like to see CCP fix the stacking penalty bug so you can fit as many as you want with proper stacking penalties applying. I'd also like to see CCP one day add some equipment to improve verticality like jetpacks and the grappling pin/magnetic boots set where you could winch yourself up buildings or even hang upside-down from ceilings. Both of these would have significant drawbacks though. Jetpacks would be lockable to swarms and bloom your profile to that of a vehicle. The grappling pin/magnetic boots would bloom your sig and the magnets would attract grenades and weapons with projectiles (the way A/V grenades do).
I rather have 3 myofibs from now than 5 with stacking penalties. Who knows how badly CCP is going to nerf them. Watch them make it so you need a straight 4 myofibs to jump over a rail in a Cal sent.

There is nothing OP about the Myofib. You give up a lot of HP to be more mobile, I see nothing wrong with that. The funny thing is that the mobility is a SIDE effect of the module. The modules PRIMARY purpose is to add to melee damage, which has only been effected at all because CCP is having issues getting stacking penalties to work for jumps. You aren't giving up 216 shields to jump high, you're giving them up to hit like a ******* truck AND jump high.
Melee is bad. It has possibly the worst hit detection in the history of this game. You have to get very very very close. Also, in a min scout, my charge Nova Knives do well over 1000 damage when charged (takes like 1 sec to charge) and have 2.5 m range compared to Melee which you literally have to teleport inside the enemies dropsuit before you can do damage.

I can do that without being on the crate. The 216 Hp is also super beneficial. Also, one would probably lose 50% of their HP due to fall damage on 3x Myo Minja. #MoreCostsThanBenefits.

Damage mods help you kill. Myofibs can help you kill (even though melee is sh*t) but they are for evading/being more tactical.
No stacking penalties don't make them OP. I'm not changing the ability of my suit to kill in .5 secs instead of 1.

However, that doesn't make me wrong. Myo's were melee boosting modules. Now, they have the ADDED benefit of allowing you to jump. As stated by the lead dev himself, the hilarious jump heights were never intended. If you'd rather fill your sidearm slot with nova knives and don't feel the jump height justifies your playstyle, pick up something else. Just because you choose not to melee, no matter how awful it may be, it doesn't change the simple fact that the jump height is NOT the primary purpose of the module.
How many people used it before jump added? A couple? Now how many people use it? Hundreds?
Seems like jumping is more worth it than melee. Remove the melee and still nobody would give a dam and still use it for jumping. What ever it was primarily intended to do- it didn't do it well at all.

This is a Sci-Fi shooter in which people wear dropsuits. Jumping high is not out of reach when using a exoskeleton specifically designed for it. (Dropsuit+lots of Myofibs). It is completely possible.
Also, with 5 myofibs, you do not jump as high as the table top if you stand right next to it. That is not insanely high. That is like Neil Armstrong on the moon. In this case, it's a guy in an exoskeleton on a different planet.

It added an unintended effect into the game that altered the very flow of maps that were never designed to accommodate a mechanic that unintentionally allowed players to circumvent map design by being little supermen. Again, if you want an obnoxious mechanic that makes no sense just so you can have "fun", go mod some other game.
Quote:"For all the cheese fans here's a story to nibble on. Cheese is known to have been invented accidentally by an Arab merchant. During his travels he carried milk in sacks that were made of the stomachs of certain animals. As he traveled far and wide, the heat of the sun activated rennin, an enzyme found in the stomach lining. The bacteria made the milk curdle and separate into whey. This led to the revelation of the criminally addictive cheese, so good that it's hard to imagine life without it!"

This isn't Naruto, we don't have inner chi that we channel to fly high up into the sky. Jumping as high as you do now is already pushing the bounds of reality. There comes a point where no matter how strong you are, the physics of things won't accommodate a higher jump. There's only so much energy that can be released from a pair of bent legs. Maybe what you're really pining for is a jetpack equipment. Those seem all the rage these days.
