I used to play it religiously, I haven't had the chance to play in years though. I DMd mostly, I like to keep things cruel but fair

Would be nice if we could play a dust related game There's a new online DMing tool to run campaigns that's being made through kickstarter, it's not pretty but it looks like it nails down most of the basics. I think it runs on 5th edition which I haven't tried yet, too damn poor for that lol, but it could be worth keeping an eye on.
My plots were never all that great but I have excellent combat sequences that move rapidly so that always seemed to be enough to keep people hooked. I use a lot of forced teleports and impossible odds to help guide my groups, cuz as a DM freeroaming annoys the hell out of me haha.

There is nothing OP about the Myofib. You give up a lot of HP to be more mobile, I see nothing wrong with that. The funny thing is that the mobility is a SIDE effect of the module. The modules PRIMARY purpose is to add to melee damage, which has only been effected at all because CCP is having issues getting stacking penalties to work for jumps. You aren't giving up 216 shields to jump high, you're giving them up to hit like a ******* truck AND jump high.

You aren't giving up 216 shields to jump high, you're giving them up to hit like a ******* truck AND jump high. Melee is bad. It has possibly the worst hit detection in the history of this game. You have to get very very very close. Also, in a min scout, my charge Nova Knives do well over 1000 damage when charged (takes like 1 sec to charge) and have 2.5 m range compared to Melee which you literally have to teleport inside the enemies dropsuit before you can do damage. However, that doesn't make me wrong. Myo's were melee boosting modules. Now, they have the ADDED benefit of allowing you to jump. As stated by the lead dev himself, the hilarious jump heights were never intended. If you'd rather fill your sidearm slot with nova knives and don't feel the jump height justifies your playstyle, pick up something else. Just because you choose not to melee, no matter how awful it may be, it doesn't change the simple fact that the jump height is NOT the primary purpose of the module.

Seems like jumping is more worth it than melee. Remove the melee and still nobody would give a dam and still use it for jumping. What ever it was primarily intended to do- it didn't do it well at all. Literally all you're telling me is that melee still needs to be worked on.
You know why literally hundreds of people flocked to it? Because it was obnoxious, and as stated by the lead dev, unintended.
So, thank you for confirming that the only thing Myo's need is better Melee mechanics

So because I don't use something, I should be content with it being broken?
Interesting.
They were never intended to let people leap the tallest buildings in a single bound, it was a mistake, and was fixed. I'm sorry that the game has become so tremendously boring that the inability to leap like a bunny just completely ruins the whole game for you.

You're a fool if you think people used it because it was obnoxious and I can't trust your word you don't use dropsuit. DUST Fiend wrote:Thank you for confirming that the only thing Myo's need is better Melee mechanics That was not at all what was stated, if the jump stayed and the punch left than no one would care because merc find it to be more fun to Moonwalk than punch. Even if you fix it, that won't make melee punching more popular than jumping like a real superhuman. Unintended? It had more value, more purpose. If people want to play a clown game with no ties to physics, by all means, wander off and find one. I'm sorry if the dev team has specifically stated that they don't want the modules to be so obnoxious and would like them to be more of a utility module as specifically intended.
You know there's an issue with the game itself when people feel that loosing the ability to fly like superman makes the game unplayable and is an unthinkable travesty.
As for not using dropsuits, I extremely rarely wander around in my BPOs, but I have literally 0 SP in infantry, so that usually only happens if I'm trying to get hacks for daily missions.
Also, I'd just like to highlight something for my own amusement:

You were just seeking something that was broken, once again. And how was it broken? Was it annoying for you to kill me so you called nerf? It added an unintended effect into the game that altered the very flow of maps that were never designed to accommodate a mechanic that unintentionally allowed players to circumvent map design by being little supermen.
Again, if you want an obnoxious mechanic that makes no sense just so you can have "fun", go mod some other game.

So, thank you for confirming that the only thing Myo's need is better Melee mechanics This is a Sci-Fi shooter in which people wear dropsuits. Jumping high is not out of reach when using a exoskeleton specifically designed for it. (Dropsuit+lots of Myofibs). It is completely possible. Myo's make you stronger, they don't alter your physique. This isn't Naruto, we don't have inner chi that we channel to fly high up into the sky. Jumping as high as you do now is already pushing the bounds of reality. There comes a point where no matter how strong you are, the physics of things won't accommodate a higher jump. There's only so much energy that can be released from a pair of bent legs.
Maybe what you're really pining for is a jetpack equipment. Those seem all the rage these days.

You're actually right.
I'll take my dropship teleporter now. Oooh and I want to fire dark energy out of my hands that rips my opponents into shreds. Oooh ooh and I want to be able to manipulate the earth to cause gigantic spikes to fly out of the ground to destroy dropships.
Damn, the future without reality is ******* awesome.
