Connections suggesting the Jove and the Sleepers are one in the same at this point in time are tenuous at best. But Jadek, and I hoped you'd be more educated on the matter, Vak'Atioth was more complicated an issue than you've made it out to be.
What the difference between the Imperial Navy and the Drifters will come down to are numbers of ships on field and whether or not Capsuleer assistance is possible.
If they'd simply communicate their intent this build up of military force would not even be necessary. We have no quarrel with the Drifter's unless they give us cause to believe they are a credible threat to the stability of the Empire, it's peoples, and the Empress.
That being said one would hope other CONCORD signatories recognise the good the post-Heideran Empire has done for the cluster in establishing the balance of power and remaining non-militaristic in pursuit of the modern Reclaiming and provide support in mitigating the effects of a potentially cluster wide threat.

I don't doubt that the Imperial Navy has the capability to successfully defend the Throne Worlds themselves, and the Holder's able to mass their own personal fleets to protect their holdings.....however
I'd be interested in seeing what happens if the Amarr won a tactical victory over the Drifters appearing in their space.
((As of yet lore wise I cannot think of a particularly successful military action that the Amarr have undertake since the foundation of CONCORD whereas every other faction seems to be doing things reasonably well. Yet it is expressly stated by Muriya Mordu that of the four Empires the Amarr are perhaps the strongest militarily.
The Minmatar have the Elder Fleet Invasion....though victory might be stretching the limit of believability in that it nearly bankrupted the Republic, ensured the continued poverty and lack of infrastructure for their citizens, and cost them 1/3 their military assets.
The Gallente technically have Caldari Prime and if you want to call it Kador's Folly since the Empress did not deem it worth opposing the Federal Navy over the actions foolish Kador Heir.
The Caldari also would I ague have Caldari Prime. While they lost a titan doing it the tactical victory was somewhat theirs. Not only did the bungled post Operation Highlander make their way to the State and rile them up over illegal Federal activities it was revealed that the threat of a Caldari counter attack scared Federal command enough to ready their fleet of Iaptian Titans to be Cyno'd into Lunminaire and Ishukone snagged a massive deal to rebuild on Caldari Prime .))
