Piloting SP- Piloting and operating Dropships and Light Vehicals is fun and is a needed tool on the battlefield. I loved doing it in battlefield and Tribes, but it became a waist of time hauling troops around when I would gain zero SP for doing so. Flying Dropships should not be the same way. I ask that you pretty please add SP for those behind the wheel of any vehicle (Except Tanks because they are not passive and can gain SP by killing). We are spending time to learn how to properly operate and maneuver them to fly are crew safely and should be rewarded for taking this passive role.
Idea to correct- Add an SP multiplier to the ship or vehicle that is being piloted that gives the operator of it SP based on the number of crew members on board. Then add a time release for how long they stay behind the wheel. This will motivate more people to become better pilots.
Dropships- Two quick things. First would be to add a Clone module to apply to DropshipGÇÖs that can allow spawning inside of it when Piloted Second, allow crew members that are not behind a turret to at lest fire their personal weapons while on boarded to keep from getting baord.
Passive Role XP- A lot of FPS games lack in this department and I just ask you donGÇÖt fall in the same pit. Gothem City Imposters has this ticket you can add that gives you a SP bonus for doing a team action over a solo one. It would apply to healing, setting up spawn points, reviling enemy location and so on. Not saying you need to add a bonus, just make sure that SP is rewarded to support guys. Remember not everyone is a killer.
These are just a few flaws I see in every FPS and hope you guys lead the way in correcting them. Thank you so much for producing this game. If you have any question or want feedback and opinion on anything for involving Dust 514 please ask anytime. Otherwise IGÇÖll just keep up the emails when another cluster of ideas comes up. Thanks again |

Just fyi, they don't expect you to reach cap in a short period of time. They said it would take 7 years. |

What dose that have to do with anything? Piloting is a skill just like shooting is and it's harder to learn then pulling a trigger. This will bring more drivers and pilots to the battlefield if they are getting SP to be behind the wheel.
Battlefield 3 fell short on this concept hard. |

With the Logi Dropship you can have people spawn into the turret and passenger seats making you a semi permanent roaming respawn, but using the drop links takes twice as long to spawn, and only gives 15 WP. If these are consistent with the Logi DS then you also have to add in the fact that they move around a lot if only to keep from getting killed and aren't likely to get that many takers. |

I've trained drop ship to minimum since I rarely use it. No SP gained means I might as well run along w/ the rest of my team and gain some kills and assist along the way. Also, since there is no way to have one picked back up after use, calling it means it's pretty much lost. Especially now that everyone and their mothers use SL, once you're seen they all shoot it down.
Currently not something I'll retrain after any wipe. |

Thank you for strengthening my point guys. A Recall function would be awesome along side SP |

I've got some flight time under my belt. as it is theyre only viable when everyone has comms, but i have found that even randoms will spawn into a logi dropship, they just can't pass up a spawn right on top of the objective! I would like a bonus for skilled piloting, making a locked-on swarm launcher lose its lock and miss should be rewarded, but a passive "sit in it for bonus" wont fly for me. I liked another guy's idea of getting WP for up to three actions each player recently deployed by a dropship completes. "Pilot assist" points for objectives, if you will. |

I can work with this. Don't get me wrong. I'm not asking to allow players to fly a ship just to hide and gain free SP. I would like to see pilots get Their share of SP. Plus it adds to the team work. |

There's already muliple threads on this topic.
Primarily for Dropship pilots, but applicable to all non-combat transports.
Please use the search function. It does work wonders. |

Pilot here who agrees with OP's points. I definitely think there should be a passive skill gain boost for pilots/drivers, because their role in combat is completely passive but necessary to a successful team, and we don't really get anything for it.
That being said, don't we get assists when our gunners kill people?
I personally don't think an occasional +25 assist is enough, I would prefer a .5 or even .25 multiplier increase just for being in a cockpit.
I want dedicate pilots to speak up and learn to fly in DUST, something I have a major problem with is:
>everyone spawns
>everyone throws down LAVs
>everyone drives in different directions
>I'm sitting there with my dropship solo
Also, off-topic but pilot-related, does anybody else lose their **** hard when somebody spawns a dropship in the first ten seconds and makes a beeline for the objectives? I don't spawn a dropship until the final objectives due to heavy defense - just not worth losing ship after ship to throw yourself on them. |

Thinking about it more, this idea probably won't take hold before launch, but once the corps start to use pilots and drivers more in there tactics then there will be more of a demand for it. |
