Why do all mass drivers have the same projectile color as the snowball launcher? I think it was a glitch, but no one ever said anything. If its not a glitch, what's the point of a snowball launcher if they all look the same?

Snowball launcher needs to look the same to scare people. Otherwise you'd say : "Oh it can't hurt me let's kill that guy"
I'd like it to cost 0 CPU and PG as it does 0 damage |

So you're saying Ccp changed all mass drivers to make their novelty mass driver more efficient at doing nothing?

I've noticed this. I don't know if it's a bug or CCP were trying to improve performance, but the mass driver used to look awesome.
They had steadily been improving the graphics since release and the version late last year / early this year looked like some kind of star launcher, with a very bright projectile and smoke trail, at least that's how I remember it.
Then in a release shortly after they sold the snowball launcher, all mass drivers fired a fuzzy white ball like the snowball launcher.
Would be great to get the fancy graphics back.
Edit: if this is my imagination then I'm gonna look stupid. Atleast the OP seems to agree. |

The change in the MD firing animation came after a hotfix or update but I can't remember which one.
It was a few months ago.
After the update, a bug with the MD eliminated the smoke trail and projectile completely, making it much more difficult to aim.
You shot it, then the explosion. That was it.
When they fixed it a week or so later, we got what we have now.
I much preferred the old animation.

It started with the old animation which looked like a shiny rock, then they updated it to a bright orange projectile w a smoke trail(my fave), then toned that down, now we have the current animation which resembles shooting a plain paper ball.

I'm guessing there was a glitch so they took a shortcut to fix them by using the snowball animation.

Yeah, whatever happened to the glowy animation?
Like, it would light up the ground and walls as it flew by.
The officer mass driver has orange smoke now, but I really miss the bright projectile.
I believe the snowball launcher has a much bigger explosion effect...I could be wrong though.
