Why do they make a sound? When they are charging and when they are swung. It has to be the most annoying thing sneaking up on someone only to find out they wear surround sound headphones and can hear the knife charge. Even though backpeddle speed was nerfed/fixed they simple jump back, which isn't reduced in speed. I don't think making knives silent would make them OP in any way. |

and charging plasma makes sound? This is a science fiction, non of the weapons need to make auditable sound, they do because of design and emersion. Even when you don't charge them the swinging makes noise, I think that should be removed, you do not. |

Not really a thread asking how to use knives, more of a ***** fest of why do they even make noise and who else thinks this way? I have no need for advice, I guess I am curious as to why use knives when the shotty is a much better alpha weapon. I want to make the nova knife more viable than just a novelty weapon or a get them off the hack weapon. The noise factor is confusing to me, that is all. Could someone explain why when you swing a non charged swipe it makes noise? Or mechanically speaking if it didn't why that would be OP? |

Do you hear friendly footsteps? If so, then you must be spinning in circles a lot, and on that point, perhaps that is another change. Scouts don't make noise, Heavys make a lot. That might be far too much coding, but it is a thought. |

So because it is an Alpha weapon it needs to make noise? That logic is flawed because then when you take them out they should make noise, or whenever you move they should make noise, or jump. Also, in my experience a plasma edge with a thermic igniter does not make any noise. So if you want to go by real life examples, you are wrong. |

So if you want to go by real life examples, you are wrong. why should they make noise when u move after taking out, it's heated when you go for the kill? you have personal experience with plasma blades heated by thermic igniter.... interesting... well I don't , but if I had to guess.. it would be something like the click of a gas grill giniter, or the dryer igniter , or a light bulb even.,fk if I know.. but it would make a sound i'm sure
That was my point....if they made no noise it would make no difference with the description because no one has any experience with it at all, so using said description as justification is not logical.
I could see swinging the knife for killing to be different than swinging the knife while running. Mechanically most FPS have knife kills as OHK and silent, because if you let someone sneak up behind you and touch you, you should die. Not sure why there is a want for a departure from that in this game. |

Every dies by everything, I would be interested to know statistically how much they are used compared to the other weapons, perhaps there are enough suicide knifers out there. They have the actual numbers and appear to make changes based off those numbers, not sure if these threads actually do much in the way of change. |
