I don't have problems killing Mercs with any of my suits myself. It's the poor saps that start out this game and buy one of those suits just to find out that they are not better than what they already have.

They're meant to be almost decent but not good. So get good or play proto yourself (it wont help much if you're bad tho). Fix the game before trying to add anything else. (Hint: hit detection, lags, glitches,.. you've got some work :) )

Just a whole lot of bad players who don't notice why they suck. Protos aren't the problem. Squads are. And once again: APEX suits are supposed to be as they are. Apex suits are honestly, pretty powerful in terms of a 'cheap/free' fit. Compare them to starter fits and they get skill bonuses. Compare them to basic fits and they get more slots and they're free. A few of the apex suits could use some items changed so that they better fit their respective metas, but honestly almost all of them are actually really good suits until you want to step things up.
