Premise is simple, Sign if you would be happy to purchase a skin or skins if the price were dropped to 5-10 euro which is in keeping with the free to play model price found in
League of legends Dota 2 Team fortress 2 H1Z1 Lord of the rings online Everquest Clash of clans
The List goes on.
Its understandable that CCP set the price high at first (its far more difficult if you start low and increase the price. players would get mad) but the current pricing system is outrageous high.
This is also to gauge the interest in skins so anyone would would NEVER purchase a skin please there is no need to sign

Pretty much a broken record here, but I'd be far more OK with the price if a couple skins went 50% off every week so they would be $10 normally and $5 every so often. Weekly sales on select cosmetic items are common in many F2P games.

Its basically the same request but if CCP feel that's the way to go then fine, I just done agree with cosmetic items in a game costing so much when i know exactly how much work goes into making them. not to say the asset creators are lazy but once the pipeline is setup they can pump out skins every week

I sign the idea of less espensive skins. To disagree with a point CCP Rattatai made earlier, I didnt buy BPO suits because of the colors, I got them because of the utility of a dropsuit I didnt have to restock ever.
I disagree with the price of this petition, and think that around $2 or $3 would be better, but agree that $10 is right out the window stop being like this!
Also I want the Gallente Legacy color scheme to be made available for medium and heavy suits because its too sexy to keep limited to light suits. |

Oh I agree that $10 is too high, but sadly Marketing is the ones that set the price, and they're basically assholes.
If they're set on the $10 base price....fine, but the skins simply will not sell well if they're $10 all the time. Sales are good, it encourages a sense of urgency and causes people to want to impulse buy...it's kind of how they stick gum in the check out line at stores, because its cheap and you don't have much time to think about if you want it or not because you'll be checking out soon, so people typically just impulse buy it.

I actually dont see why certain skins are locked based on suit size. why can't they just create a single skin that can be applied to all suits. that would guarantee everyone who's who's bought aur would buy at least one skins and as more come out players would buy what they find appealing. wish CCP would release if the skins are even selling

agreed, marketing officials do seem to make these mistakes.
Did you know that a team of expert marketers were asked to evaluate RIOT's marketing approach to their free to play model for League of legends.
The experts all agreed that in free to play games only 25% of the players buy content.the rest of the players are freeloaders playing the game for free. for a free to play model to work the prices must be set low enough to encourage this 25% to buy content. this insures the game can be profitable. any higher you discourage the small amount of players willing to spend money, any lower and you wont be profitable.
The experts could not understand how RIOT has stayed profitable due to their content being priced so low. League of legends sells its content at very cheap rates and has 75% of its player base spend money as a result. its one of the most successful free to play games due to ignoring the normal trends of buissness and setting its own

Totally agree. It's similar to Little Big Planet who sold many items for under $5, many of which were $1. I spent more money on that game than I normally would, simply because I never thought twice about $1 purchases and they added up quickly, but overall I was more satisfied because I felt like I got a lot of content for a great price.
Dust on the other hand tends to price things much higher and I am often far more reluctant to spend money on it simply because of the higher price.

The way I see it. We've been given more free content in this game than a BF4 player does for buying premium.
Bottom line is, if you want this game to be successful then spend money it. Whether that it be a SKIN, a BPO, or a merc back or whatever. Help this game succeed and you'll continue to get FREE content for as long as it exists.

I bought $20 worth of aurum and wanted to buy both the Duvolle skin and Gallente legacy skin, but I'm 600 short on the legacy skin because the manufacturer skin is so expensive. I don't understand why they cost more.

exactly how I and i'm sure many others feel.
Why are they discouraging many players buying content in the hopes that a small few purchase the big pricetag?
the whole reason games company's can make a profit is by creating digital content that can be mass copied and distributed to a massive audience and selling it at a low price. car company's cant do that, no other form of industry can do that.
2K Games EVOLVE has been a massive flop this year due to the ludacris price tag on content.

No, just no. we have not received more free content in the game then BF4. we have been given the content we were promised in the trailer for signing up to the game. despite being out of beta this game is still being treated as a undeveloped title.
your also making the mistake of thinking this game is a crowed fund me project. you don't donate money to a developer to make a game successful. you play the game and buy the content because its a great game with great content. THAT is what makes a game successful.
jesus where is your sense of self respect as a gamer??

But they shouldn't be treated that way. no successful F2P game (and i'm talking about the games that make millions) segregates there player base into those who pay and those who don't.
A free to play title shouldn't have payers and players. the entire point is that everyone can play for free and everyone can purchase what they want from the game. THEY have control over what they pay for and get the features THEY want.
The point is to attract players that find that level of content control appealing. which is everyone so long as the content has a low price tag. CCP marketing haven't a clue what there doing. which is why this game isn't considered successful just profitible

Oh God EVOLVE....
12 Hunters at launch 3 Monsters at launch $60
DLC pack 4 Hunters $25
1 Monster $15
Nothing like buying a DLC set that costs 2/3rds of the original price of the game but comes with 1/3rd of the content.

I pretty much show up to get credit for EVOLVE events and then ignore it until the next event.
I mean the game can be fun as long as you don't get boned by some of the glaring glitches/balance issues but it lacks the 'fun factor' that makes me want to sit down and play it for hours on end.

LOL AAA F2P game.
Free loading spectators is pretty funny as well since without them to kill people no one would have had any reason to spend money on this game to keep it from obtaining WoD status. Everything in Dust is pretty much over priced. $3 for 10 random items or 40 cents for one random item is a bit crazy in my opinion but we all just keep buying so I suppose it works. |
