I should have over 50 mil XP and close to 200 mil ISK. The truth is I miss Dust. Maybe I should have kept my ps3. I have been thinking of buying a used cheap ps3 just to play Dust but at the same time I really do not want to go back to ps3 after playing ps4 for almost a year. I also have not kept up with what is going in. I sympmy decided to leave quietly. I spent a lot of time and money playing Dust and I have to be honest and say I was upset after fun fest last year. But they say time heals. I feel better now. In the mean time I played other games. My question are, is it worth coming back? And are there any near future plans for Dust to make it to ps4? Thanks and have a great day! It was not just time that healed these wounds. Some guy from the Finance department was left in charge of DUST and while management was looking the other way he got all the players to hold hand, close their eyes and chant a strange incantation, causing this dead game to rise from the grave and LIVE AGAIN!!!
Seriously, CCP Ratatti has performed one of the most spectacular turnarounds in the history of game development, turning a game which everyone thought was dead into a fun game which is actually paying its own way. He did it by integrating the players themselves into the development process in a way I have never seen before, and the result is that DUST is far better now than it ever was when you played. Most of this was done with server side hot fixes, but now that it is turning a profit DUST is getting some actual client side development as well. Still a small team, so you have to control your expectations, but what they have done, and are continuing to do is very impressive non the less.
Also, don't mind Scheneighnay McBob, when they said "No way" to the PS4, DUST was a complete flop on the PS3. As soon as DUST started becoming profitable on the PS3 they stopped talking about porting DUST to the PC (Project Legion), so at this point I would give it even odds to go to either platform. They have confirmed that DUST will go to a new platform, but will not say anything about which platform. Don't expect them to say anything until they make their final decision and are committed. It will not be right away though. We will be on the PS3 for a little longer yet.
I expect the new platform announcement to be made at Fan Fest 2016, and for the new Platform Beta to open within a few months after that if not at the Fan Fest itself.
We do know they have been working on a port since September 2013, and the PS4 is not all that different from PC, so development on one is probably somewhat transportable to the other.
