Acquisition is a new mode in which there is no clone count and the objective moves. When you play as infantry, it is fun. What ruins it are havs.
The first team that either deploys the most havs, ore the pro hav, is most likely the winning team.
This really sucks especially when it's a pro tank. They are really hard to kill. You probably could do it easily of wleveryone ran av but that is not the case. Someone has to defend, attack, and hack.
Acquisition also sucked because of the one spawn point. In one match just yesterday, I got redlined. YES REDLINED. No not really. There aren't any redline to be redlined against. But, their is one spawn point on maps and you will get surrounded by tanks and infantry, shooting at you. When that happens, game over. No way you can win any more.
So how can we make it better?
Well, how about refusing time from 5min to 3 min to allow the objective to changeover often. Secondly, add more spawn points. You can be spawn camped to easily once the enemy knows where it is that the team spawns from.
3rdly would be toning down the pro tanks which will be another post that I'll make later and link here as well.

I believe this game mode should be considered solo unfriendly.
3 dudes with AV nades and PLCs in a small space... They don't make tanks that can deal with that.

This mode needs to use the largest maps we have!
The original description of this mode was of something that would require the use of vehicles not just for map control but also for rapid transport, and might even give transport Dropships a role to play in a match other than hovering over an objective with a CRU and a Small Railgun.
What we got, however, is the smaller maps and objectives that rarely move as much as 200 meters, meaning that it's just an Ambush match with an objective you can hold to make it end sooner. Also, if you wipe out all the enemy uplinks, surround their spawn, and don't hack the objective, you can farm the enemy as they spawn in indefinitely.

teams need to use their heads. Why do you only have the base spawn?? we have drop uplinks man.. tank bothering you...get a couple guys on overwatch up top somewhere with some nanohives..tanks will stay back and try to pick stuff off or die.

that is some straight up scrubbnbubbles there, if people are leaving the objective untouched and all standing on spawn point...if that really is happening, then I guess we do need multiple spawn points. I have not seen that problem once yet, and have had no problems. |

weird problem, is that it's such a spam fest no one really needs to run proto, even rich folk. tanks know this, so combine that with the only way infantry can take out proto tanks is with focused proto av and you have this problem. also, a lot of the letter spawns are in wide open areas so it's another bonus for vehicles, and since everyone is running cheap suits tanks are not threatened. as already seen in this thread acquisition is going to be filled with all the elitist tryhards, but because of the spam fest, and the majority of it occurring in wide open places, if you are infantry you are running bpos, so even if you lose you make some isk. |

I agree with the first 2 ways to make it better, but keep vehicles as they are.
Acquisition is the single-objective game mode where vehicles are important Domination is the single-objective game mode where vehicles aren't important

First of all, it's called AV. Second of all, it would be better if the maps were bigger. You know, make vehicles useful. Crazy, right? However the bigger the map, usually, the laggier the map. But then again my idea of all plants and no sockets could make for a good big map. Who knows, maybe we could even get a tree!

HAVs, playing solo... A good tank can be a pain in the ass, however, with teamwork they can be destroyed. On your own, you can keep bothering it until it goes away and maybe even destroy it if it panics. If it doesnt, well, there are other players in the team, at least three of them should be playing AV. If not, well, not a really good team. And the solo thing, you can play with a squad and do really well, same thing if you play solo, you just need to play in different ways, adapt to the situation. |
