It is the opposite for me. I always feel like I could learn more. I went through a lot to get to the point I am now. Joined the military right after high school and had my experiences traveling the world. Did my time and when I felt it was time to go I moved on. I never planned to make it a permanent thing so I was always thinking ahead. When I separated I used what I earned to pay my way through college. Due to the types of hours I worked, it was very difficult to have time for school while I was in. For what I wanted to learn, I wanted to be on campus for. So I just waited until the right moment came along. My real goal was to be a game designer. I didn't know much about it at first but over time I became very proficient while learning the different types of software. Even when I received praise for my work, I was never 100% happy with it. I was always thinking on how to improve on what I have done. I was always watching tutorials or asking questions about what could be done differently to make it better. When I did traditional drawing, I spent many hours practicing them daily.
I didn't have all the resources others schools had and I made do with what I had. Worked off demos and other work arounds to get what I needed when resources were limited. My former instructor noticed that even though I had very little to work with, I was working harder and putting out better work than the people with the advantage in technology. Actually walked up to me after watching me build models and said that to me. What keeps me going is never truly being completely happy with what I do and always striving to improve. The second I get the feeling I can't do anything better, something is wrong. That is the one thing that makes me want to do more. Without that, you will have a hard time getting towards a goal.
Finished college many years later and graduated with honors. Even though I was in game design, I didn't play games when it came to getting through school. Others would mess around and not take it seriously. I was always propped in front of a book or looking at tutorials, even in my free time. It payed off though when I aced every single exam. The others would look at me with a confused stare, trying to figure out how I was doing it. The main reason for that is I always dedicated time to what I needed to do and I never waited until the last minute. When I needed to get something done, I immediately got started on it. After all I have experienced over the years, I always try to find ways around problems. The answer may not always be right in front of you but over time it will hit you. There will always be barriers that will get in your way, you simply have to be stubborn enough to keep trying to get around them lol. If you stop, it is pretty much the end of any accomplishment.
Even after all of that, I am still improving on what I have learned over the years. Kept a lot of the habits of researching what I want to know and I put time aside for it. In the end it will be up to you. Just don't ever stop trying. I am doing the same to this day and looking forward. You have to slowly work your way up, start small and over time when you are able, do bigger things.

Lol JIMvc2, I pretty much did exactly that. I wasn't really around the people that went out partying when they were supposed to be studying. They ended up regretting that decision later on. Without really saying much, it was easy to spot the people that were trying to get their work done. We all ended up running into each other and helped when needed. People would always try to invite me to random parties but I would look at the mound of work I had to do lol. Had barely any free time really, I was always working on some project or reading. With the way the school I went to worked, one day is equal to a weeks worth of work. So if they slacked off even for one day, they really dug themselves in a hole.
I would see people scrambling at the last minute, panicking to get their stuff done on time and I would just be sitting there smiling. I made a few friends but by the time I went to school, there was a huge age gap between me and the majority of other students. So it was hard for me to really relate to them because of that. I was pretty much in the mindset to just get things done and move on. Seen a lot of people just not taking it serious and they would be confused as to why they are struggling. I ended up meeting people from different programs that shared some of the overlapping classes. Some were fashion, graphic design, and IT students. While I was learning about web design, a lot of them ended up in there. Later on we met again in the art classes lol. I really enjoyed the animating classes, it was an interesting experience.
When I studied for every exam, I would read for two hours and take a 30 minute break. I would turn on my game and just relax. Soon as the 30 minutes were up, I picked up where I left off and kept repeating until I got tired. Soon as I did, I stopped and would continue the next day. I tried not to over study, I knew if I did I would just forget the information at that point so I made sure to pace myself. Never scored lower than an A on any test I took there lol. I had studied the information so much I could pretty much recite it within seconds. I made it a habit and it just became effortless after that.
There were some long nights where I was having to build levels and have concept art ready to be seen. For each drawing I spent a minimum of four hours on them. I had fun doing it, even though it is a lot of work involved. I would spend the majority of my time just doing that before I had to get ready for the next day. Even if it seems stressful at times, it is worth it in the end. When that day finally comes, it is like a huge amount of weight has been lifted off you. I was smart about it and planned ahead lol. I did all the gen ed classes and electives right off the bat. i spaced them out though so the more difficult classes were not given to me all at once. When I got all those done, I pretty much came to school just to learn about games and art. Felt nice having that out of the way. Good luck with the rest of college, I am sure you will do just fine. Those last weeks are like having an orbital dropped on you lol. I was getting spammed with all kinds of projects. Ended up having to set a day aside for each individual one to get everything done on time. The closer I got to that graduation date, the happier I became.
