So I watched the Biomassed podcast (good job on a year of episodes fellas!) last night. Yes, I am behind the times. It was pretty fascinating just hearing Rattati openly admit that certain things have been quite bad, namely "we are almost back to the point to where we were before FanFest [2014] but, unfortunately, just not quite there yet." One thing that really stuck to me is the fact that Rattati flat out said "Reskins of Tanks are coming because the PS3's memory is insufficient for new models." I am paraphrasing, but that is the gist of it.
Now we have Iron Wolf Saber and Rattati both stating that the nearly 9 year old tech that DUST is on is hampering the game development. IWS mentioned the Gallente RDV that has been in the game files forever but never implemented because of tech limitations and Rattati says that the only want to have any racial tank is for them to be reskins, again because of the tech.
So why is there such an utter silence about the potential for DUST to move to a different platform? I don't believe that CCP has even made statements like "we are looking into migrating from the PS3" other than Legion but even Legion was billed as a separate game rather than a transition (which is why "what about mah SP!" was The Bridal March for the wedding).
Because what looks worse than "Damn, DUST's tech be so old!" is "Damn, DUST's tech is never going to improve..."

Try to stay clear of the arguments over PS4 or PC. We should be more curious what is happening and trying to argue which.
There is a difference between not saying anything when there is nothing concrete and not even stating goals. The silence is worrisome.

You see, this is what CCP can easily do. Someone brings up if the game will be moved to a different platform and the arguments and back and forths start over whether it should be Playstation 4 or PC. The argument continues and continues and CCP never has to step in because it becomes people arguing over something they do not have to make a statement on: Computers and Consoles.
The question is NOT "Which system will DUST move to, if at all?" That is the question that just gets lost out because it becomes a case of "X versus Y." That is not that interesting of a question, especially considering where DUST is at the moment.
The question should be "Does CCP intend to transition to a different system or have that as a goal?"
This isn't a "well, do you want a repeat of FanFest 2013 or 2014 where it is nothing concrete?" In fact, that is a non-sequitur. Isn't it odd that Rattat and CCP have not made their intentions known on the concept of transition, that we do not know if the developers of the game even intend to overcome the limitation that they know freely admit hampers their design?
It doesn't matter what system DUST ends up on right now. We don't know if there is any kind of will or desire to transition the game. We don't need something concrete or even a big announcement. How about something like:
"We have nothing to announce at the moment. However, we are currently interested in the process of transitioning DUST 514 from the current system to another."
