I had an idea for a teleporter equipment module. Wait. Let me finish.
You have one module, similar to an up link. You have only one, and it is consumed on use.
How it works: You drop the link at a certain point. At any time you select the equipment and activate it the same way you detonate RE's. When you activate it you are teleported to your pad. The pad is then destroyed.
There is a range limit, which increases with meta. Probably 25M up to a maximum of 100M with a proto pad.
When you teleport there would be about a 5 second materialization period before you can move, while you are vulnerable (2.5 seconds on each side).
I feel this is balanced, and would be an interesting mechanic for scouts to be able to batman their way out of tight spots.
Who cares what some sniper has to say.

If it were possible, I want some kind of "warping grenade," similar to Ender pearls from Minecraft. Basically you'd just throw them and you'd teleport where they land.
Much more balanced, I think, since you'd need skill to throw them (and messing up could be fatal) as well as being near worthless in combat (it would take time for them to land, plus your enemy can see where you're throwing it).

Not shitting on the idea, just being realistic about what actually has a possibility of happening, that's all.

Let the player throw it like a grenade so you can choose to tele over walls or out of incoming trouble and i'd love the idea.

Why not a portal? You can drop 2 down at a time, then do a short hack-like sequence to jump between them. The higher the tier, the faster you can jump through.
Some details can be ignored

Wouldn't it be more fun if you could throw an 'equipment' and teleport reds to 'another destination' like down a cliff or into your redline? |

An modification equipment that lets you aim (with cross hairs) would be better the activation time and distance should increase with increase in tier upgrades. There could also be a minor movement delay of some sort, maybe your not capable of movement after warp/teleportation for a few milliseconds or your movement speed is reduced a bit like you had disorientation. Half might be to much but 15.00% wouldn't be bad and it could also be reduced with upgrading in tiers. I can already see the animation, left arm extends forward a blue / green light encircles and shoots from arm; like a grappling hook or electricity,a minor blur of electric lines fill the screen for a quarter of a second and your right where you pointed to earlier.
This could also be a grenade feature or have a variant to the equipment, instead of a throw able you have a reusable maybe 10 count or rechargeable. Every time you press the grenade button you move a short distance in the direction you were moving originally. Like if I moved right I would appear a few feet away in the same direction. Or if I was running to my opponent and the were jumping 10ft off the ground raining PLC or MD rounds on me I could move forward a bit and run out of the way. This would be extremely good on snipers at least from a distance. |
