As a solo pilot with 0 SP in infantry, pub skirm is my playground.
I stay away from FW because:
- Ridiculously long queue times
- Queue synced proto squads of no lifers
- Nothing to spend LP on as a Gallente pilot
- Friendly fire means even more of my ships lost to trolls
- Almost every match, without exception, is a massive boring ass redline fest.
There is absolutely nothing appealing about FW, and moving the only game mode that has even the tiniest margin of fun will just totally kill what little fun I currently have in this game.
Maybe CCP should try buffing their player base instead of nerfing it.

I would like to see it happen. Show me the LP Incubus with no forced turrets
Show me the vehicle modules....
How would it fix queue times? Since it's not just Skirm, you'd have players like me backing out of non skirm game modes since skirm is the only fun game mode, and I refuse to play a sub par game unless I'm having fun. FW is horrifically unbalanced and of all the game modes it's basically the LEAST competitive thanks to it ALWAYS being a one sided stomp.
As to the person saying I could sell FW items...why would I want to waste even more of my time trying to track people down on the forums to get rid of gear in the hopes that they pay me back? That's way too much time when all I want is to turn on my PS3, grab a few matches, and sign off. Like I said, maybe CCP should just focus on getting their game running smoothly and balanced so that more players come and stay, rather than making some arbitrary line in the sand and saying "like it or leave, because marketing"
The ****?

Himiko Kuronaga wrote:Every single one of the problems you just listed would most likely be solved if this was made to happen.
-- Queue times would be shorter because the game mode is less fractured.
-- Matchmaking could actually be a thing in FW if allied faction pools are combined.
-- Vehicle components are cheaper on FW market. Getting LP and ISK combined payout makes this doubly true.
-- Friendly Fire would most likely be removed from FW and left to exist in solely for PC.
-- Happens due to Q syncs which would be largely obliterated by matchmaking being introduced.
When somebody suggests something, it is usually done with a more holistic outlook and the expectation that certain changes would also follow. Except that CCP takes months to years to add in things as part of their "iterative" process.....
-- Queue times don't get any shorter if people who have absolutely no desire to play FW are forced into FW, AKA, making them go play other games.
-- Allied pools combined? Meaning I'd have to fight for factions that I don't want to raise? I don't care about any faction, but if I had to choose I'd only be interested in Gallente, which again, doesn't have the modules I need
- You do realize there are NO vehicle modules in the LP store....right? Just turrets and dumbed down vehicles with mandatory turrets. And no ADS.
- If you turn of FF and add ISK payments, why even have non FW matches? Why not just turn pubs into FW but with LP payouts? And unless you plan on making it so you can choose your game mode, youll still have people dropping out of game modes they dislike. I have 0 SP in infantry. What makes you think I'm gonna waste 10 minutes of my day in an Ambush match getting killed by proto squads, or sit in an incredibly boring redline stomp Domination match for 10 minutes? I'm not. It's not fun, this is a video game, and I have no desire to play something that isn't fun. Period.
- I don't have remotely enough faith in MM removing Q sync since MM has done nothing but give me halfway filled / completed matches since it launched

I have more ISK than I could spend in a year, and I have NO desire to sit on the forums hunting for people to buy random crap in the hopes that they pay me back.
0 interest.
All I want is to sign in, hop into a match or two, and sign off.
There is NOTHING wrong with pub skirm. Don't remove a game mode because you fail to retain enough players to build your player base. Instead, focus on BUILDING AND RETAINING YOUR PLAYER BASE

Instead, focus on BUILDING AND RETAINING YOUR PLAYER BASE I don't see much difference in Skirmish and Acquisition for an ADS pilot. Blaster tanks are everywhere and it would seem that an Incubus pilot as yourself would flourish. The maps are smaller from what I've seen, and lots of objectives wind up inside. The few matches I played had virtually no enemy vehicles, and just like domination, every game was one side winning by a LANDSLIDE. Sure this happens in Skirm too, but not anywhere near as bad as Dom / Acq. Also since maps are smaller and you only have one home spawn, it's pretty damn easy to predict where an RDV will drop, meaning more ships lost before they can ever be deployed.
I'm not sure why people suddenly jumped on the band wagon of punishing players for playing CCPs game simply because CCP can't convince enough people to play their game....
