With the impending roll out of the PC revamp scheduled for Warlords 1.2 I became increasingly more aware of an issue PC has: disloyalty. Allow me to elaborate.
When a corporation participates in PC they are accessing the closest thing to an GÇ£end gameGÇ¥ that DUST 514 has to offer. In other MMOGÇÖs, to participate in end game modes you must invest time and money. It is, quite frankly, ludicrous to allow a player who is a matter of days old to join a corporation then begin participating in end game content.
It upsets me as a old standing veteran and a proud owner of Loyalty Rank 10.
Now that we understand the problem, I propose a solutionGǪ
Starting in Warlords 1.2, in order to join a corporation a player must have achieved Loyalty Rank 6. This rank must either be earned through incredible playtime (indicating dedication to the game and its community) or purchasing aurum (investing in DUST 514GÇÖs future as well as their own characterGÇÖs growth). Loyalty Rank is indicative of a deep, passionate love for this game as well as the desire to stick around.
We want those proud, valuable players. More to the point, we do NOT want those who have not yet proven their worth to be participating in DUST 514GÇÖs highest level content. Planetary Conquest is , by CCP RattatiGÇÖs own admission, DUST 514GÇÖs marquee gameplay feature.
Next, I want to familiarize you with the phrase Noblesse Oblige: GÇ£the inferred responsibility of privileged people to act with generosity and nobility toward those less privileged.GÇ¥
In the near future we, those able to afford aurum, must be capable of sharing this gift with the common masses. CCP must implement the ability to transfer aurum from one partly (I call them Lords/Ladies) to another party (GÇ£serfsGÇ¥) in payment for fealty. In return, the masses will have an increased Loyalty Rank from aurum expenditure and thus join the ranks of the Incorporated.
I welcome feedback on this in all its forms, but please post your screen captured Loyalty Rank. An above average Rank will help to separate the wheat from the chaff.
Concerning Eve Online capsuleers Shortly after composing this it occurred to make that we share New Eden with other players: Capsuleers. Eve Online pilots lack a loyalty rank, but they do actively pay a monthly subscription. This puzzled me greatly, and I spent many hours drinking fine wine and having my feet massaged by rank 4GÇÖs before I came upon a solution. Eve Online players will default to loyalty rank 5 unless they have purchased at least one ship SKIN. If they can display a ship SKIN proudly then they will be considered rank 6 for the purposes of joining DUST 514 corporations.
