"The result of years of R&D, the bolt pistol is a high-impact handgun capable of firing kinetic projectiles with pinpoint accuracy"
So why does it play out like the bolt pistol is a spread weapon. The crosshair gap, in any stance, should always be a single dot. Currently, when shooting from the hip, the gap is huge. This appears to be counter intuitive to the design of the weapon and makes a 50 meter spread death beam. <<<< Bad |

No, the point is that bolt pistol hip fire should not have a large area of damage. It should be a pinpoint no matter which stance you use dut to the nature of the weapon.
It's a lot easier to catch an enemy within a wide crosshair gap than on a single pinpoint. The wide gap essentially expands the hitbox and makes it easier to shoot someone from hipfire. That should not be the case. If the attacker is not aiming, then it should be harder to hit an object with the bolt pistol because of its pinpoint accuracy, not easier. |

The point is the pistol is fine right now, its hipfire is not supposed to be easy to aim or hit, and its scoped in is supposed to be easy to hit. Gun is balanced, leave it alone. If you want to complain about stuff, complain about the magsec, ion pistol, non breach scrambler pistols, etc. All of them either outright suck or have no place in the game meta
Do you understand basic trig, Vesta. An aiming box creates a telescoping pyramid hit region away from the shooter, which is fine if the weapon has dispersion. But in the case of the bolt pistol, it's not supposed to have dispersion. In other words, it's currently a WAY OP hipfire spread weapon of destruction. A point for hipfire crosshair makes much more sense and takes away the OP. The trajectory for hit detection should be a geometric line, not a recumbant pyramid. |

That is what I'm saying. The BP is too accurate when being fired from the hip due to the aiming region within the crosshairs. If you made it a single point, then people would hit less often. It's easier to put a huge square somewhere over a target than a tiny dot. And the bolt pistol doesn't fire a huge square round, nor does it have dispersion. It fires a tiny projectile in an exactly straight line. Hence the crosshairs should always be a pinpoint regardless of the stance. |
