You think tier recognition will be bad, keep in mind visually assaults and logis will look identical, as well as sentinels and commandos.
Was having a discussion about this early and actually don't mind this change. The display intel is easy to read and the more people looking at intel before engaging the better.

I should just be able to glance at a player to know what he is, what if the'res a crowd of 3 heavy/comando 2 medium suits? How will I tell if that's 3 Heavies with 2 logis or 3 comandos with 2 Assualts because the'res a huge differnece in how I'f approach them? You expect me to look at each one individually? I should be able to have a glance and have a rough Idea of what I'm getting into. on the contrary, why should your enemies color coordinate what they are to help you out? The intel display is more than good enough.

You do realise this isn't some point and click PC game but an FPS? Who the **** has time to read an intel display? I rarely even catch a mercs name unless they kill me. Please, try and read mine, I'll have put a round from a bolt pistol through you faceplate whilst you're doing so.
If I have enough time to alter my decisions based off what suit you're running that means I'm far enough out to read the intel. If I don't have enough time to read your intel then I wouldn't have time to alter my battle decision anyways, I would just shoot irreguardless.
