OP is referring to the Sunk Costs fallacy, I think.
A similar situation: "I might as well keep dating this person I'm dating because I have sunk 3 years into the relationship... even though we are obviously not compatible long-term and resent each other."
If you find yourself making Dust 514 a habit instead of a fun hobby, quit. Dust 514 is not a job.
If you are not enjoying yourself then stop logging in. Play another game instead. One that you get enjoyment from.
Or go for a long walk outside. Lift weights. Read a book. Do something worth your time.

I declare this thread Winner: Best Soundtrack for a Thread in GD 2015.
I also propose all further comment submissions adhere to inclusion of a soundtrack to amplify your expression of sentiment along the existing themes so that we may continue to understand, help and heal one another in this, our frail shared universe.
I like the game. Made an active decision after FF2014 to stay because of it. With all the ups and downs, back and forth fixing and flipflopping for me any movement is less about walking anywhere and more about moshing till the music stops.
