At he title says, I got hired as a housekeeper at a retirement home on 8/18/2014. I work for 8~ months and get fired on 4/14/2015... And what do you think happens a mere 11 days later? My former boss contacts me with an oppurtinity as a Caregiver/Sitter with the same ****** hours and maybe a bit more every other week... Fire me just to rehire me... It was simple a relocation from one position to another with an unpaid vacation in between.

Retirement communities are bad a this.
They do this with some nursing staff as well.
I think it is their way of avoiding paying certain benefits that kick in after a certain period of time.
Just keep an eye out.

Please, there aren't any benefits here. It's both the lowest paying, and highest turn-over retirement home in the state of Tennessee. There was one thing, clocking in on time gave a small bonus for housekeepers only, but they are doing away with that after 5 weeks.

Also, if you were doing houskeeping type work, be on the lookout for corporate housekeeping positions. I work in hospitality, and a lot of housekeepers there migrate to higher paying housekeeping for businesses. Just something to consider moving forward, if you get tired of the retirement community scene.
