I actually thought about making one and have a trailer set up with a bunch of clips from the cinematics. Just needed proper voice-overs and what not from PC battles.

Like, I'm entirely serious in that I have a full length video ready to go and what not with a really awesome music track that I have a license to use. I'll post it to youtube when I get off work if you guys are down.

I totally agree. Ever since their dev team was cut back they haven't done any new marketing or videos. they could even "hire" us mercs to give them good video clips and they could doctor them however they see fit. we could get paid in certain amounts of ISK if they use the clips. There are already a lot of videos out there and if there was a reward for them, probably more people would make higher quality videos. I just watched Sgt Kirk's plasma cannon video. It was awesome.

Darth, make another thread about player driven marketing, or something of that liking. It might go somewhere. I'll put my two ISK in that if you made it, that's for sure.

I especially like the panorama panning shots in the beginning.

I believe Dust has some truly beautiful environments with a lot of macro details. It's just a shame it's easily missed in the heat of battle, thus giving Dust the reputation as an ugly game based on the close-up textures.

When bored (or massive stomps) I tend to just go for a "walk" and soak in the atmosphere.

Tip: Could be interesting to see a "time lapse" of the backdrops / moods.

CCP isn't very smart, you have to remember that. They forget they need to advertise, to get new players. To keep them, they'll actually have to implement that PvE thing. Which is wondersome, will it actually divide the limited player base?

Before we got into open beta, or before the game "released" they were doing crap tons of advertising, and lying, there was so much excitement for the game. They had this guy, can't remember his name, running around telling people how great the game was going to be. It generated so much interest. As far us, the loyal customers, it just needs to be ported to ps4, we'll get what we want, be able to get new stuff, and we'll be happy

I will have to wait until AFTER Warlord 1.1 has been deployed so I can see for myself if Dust 514 is ready for a marketing reboot.

Remember, we don't want to be creating anymore trailers of things we do not have right now. CCP did that and it didn't work (it backfired). And I agree that if we want an awesome "This is Dust" trailer, then we certainly need to emulate the "This is Eve" trailer helped captivate new players into joining. The more players that join, the better balanced Matchmaking will become.

Oh, I'm been back for a long time already after CCP Rattati took over development and started improving things. I was mainly referring to the matter of whether it's worth marketing the game at this point.

If you ever plan to make future iterations or other "This is Dust" videos consider taking a bit of time to get some dialogue from Dust Uni lectures, etc and staging "training simulation" clips.

As I keep saying I like this video the more I watch it but PC is not the only area to have squads with good communications nor are competitive PC corporations to the sole existing corporations in the game.

Heck I think you could even stage Tank columns , DS squadrons, LAV and Scout Ops as well. Videos like this can show EVE players that we can achieve similar levels of organisation, dedication, and execution in our own ways and that we have a diverse community with different goals and skill sets.
