If you're in the open like a dumbass, yeah. I crouch in cover.
CCP needs to kill strafing. Add a short delay before changing directions (people don't magically slide around, we need to plant a foot before changing direction), as well as greatly decrease hipfire accuracy when strafing.

I don't mean this to be insulting or to get into a flame war. I mean this in the most polite way I can: "Why?" I read all of these posts about killing strafing and I have to wonder "why?" It isn't like Tanks, Minmatar Assault, or Scrambler Rifle where it takes a large amount of SP to get into and means you cannot do what you wanted; anyone is capable of moving their stick to the left and right (and even up-down, in-out *Groucho glasses*) and it doesn't preclude a certain playstyle, though Sentinels are worse at it. To me, it seems like a balance of things. You can move really fast and be hard to hit with low HP or you can be the big dump truck of a guy with a weapon that has to be transported via train tracks. So, again, I ask in the most respectful way possible: "Why?" Because strafing is unrealistic, and promotes charging in with no plan aside from "run in and kill everybody"
Faster dropsuits have the advantage of reacting to changes on the battlefield more easily, as well as moving between cover before the enemy can concentrate fire on them.
Don't forget that lighter dropsuits have more than movement speed behind them: they have faster regen as well.

So, again, I ask in the most respectful way possible: "Why?" It's because of how glitchy it is. And because lag can already give you a movement advantage It's also a bit unnatural that there is no inertia If Ratti wants to reduce walking backwards speed he can reduce strafing for the same reason And lastly (unconfirmed?) Kb/m strafe has an advantage of no deadspot I tried KB/M for a bit before the idiotic menu controls drove me insane, and I believe it's true.

Don't forget that lighter dropsuits have more than movement speed behind them: they have faster regen as well. You're playing a ******* space shooter and you're talking about realism? Weird how only people who don't strafe and stand still like a ******* blue dot moan about strafing. Get good. Someone who thinks you have to strafe in order to not get shot? Cute. Try cover, placement, and the element of surprise, and you'll look like like of a scrub.
CCP has also made it a point to make Eve and Dust as realistic as they possibly can. Barring the limitations caused by their poor choice of putting Dust on the PS3 that created our tiny maps and consequentially tiny weapon ranges.
I would like to see how real grenades would work. Long prep time, and a blast radius larger than the range you can throw.
