Two problem I see contributing with one sided matches. Not everyone has up links hence spawning really far away from conflict zone which causes player to loose interest and would rather do something else other than running 200 meters to die in 3 seconds. And re-spawning also takes too long for no reason other than prolonging matches for no real reason. Also loosing too much isk for very little reward, when you have veteran players using proto non stop killing a lot. Me personally like to do the Rambo without caring about my kdr. But when you can barely make up what you lose at the end of a match why would people keep trying to engage hot zones or the objectives.
Rant over.... From my phone... that is all.

I have extremely few matches where we have a shortage of links... And when we do, I bring up my uplink suite and place some at strategic places. Regardless of win or loss (or protostomp), those games tend to be very lucrative due to the massive amount of WP you get by having link monopoly.
You can make a really cheap scout uplink suite which is fast and can place two simultaneous uplinks.
I recommend you try it (it's really fun ) |

I got a standard GalLogi with adv. uplinks for those protostomps....
Last night still managed to get me about 100k and 200k isk, even without a victory...
And indeed, placing uplinks at strategic places can be rewarding.... as well as for isk as for turning a match around into your team's advantage....

But I do have an up link suit but is not allways that both sides have uplinks. And it is more profitable if you are the one doing it. But what I'm trying to do is put myself in a new players shoes. a lot don't know how to do it. Dust has a step learning curve. (I don't care what anybody says) and even though We can do our part to help new players. (Which ive done a lot ) In reality is it not our job. |

Yeah it took me a while to understand that logis are the lifeblood of the battlefield and the path to victory. Can't live without reppers or uplinks. for a match to be fun and not a marathon simulator. |

The past six months or so I've been in tons of matches where the losing side has spammed links galore and yet just can't get past the two shotting proto pre made with three or more heavies turtling the objective.
Death is a serious businessGǪ So is running a shoddy, half-baked game company.

That's what I'm trying to say I guess. It shouldn't be that way. That HTFU mentality is old school thinking and drove player base down. I rarely run proto, is either adv or standard on pubs For me. But for the new player experience the academy is not enough. And I'm not asking for COD style game modes but I wish there was a way to make it better and more enjoyable for everyone not just the proto stompers. |

But at least is a fun quick pace match. and most matches are really close by a couple of clones. And is not "run 200-300 feet then die, rinse and repeat" snooze fest. |

All the Frontline Starter suits now have uplinks on them. As far as the newer players go it's more about making people aware of them, what they do and the fact that sometimes there is more to winning than slaying. |

To avoid not having uplinks on the field, use a suit that has uplinks.
If everyone assumes, "Someone else will drop uplinks for me", then no one will drop uplinks.
Even crappy Militia Uplinks will provide faster deployment to the hotzone than running from a far spawn point on foot.

tl:dr... blaa blaa losing ISK bla blaa blaa profit... FORGET IT!
Forget kdr!
Forget all of your fears!
Don't be affraid to lose protogear and free your self and you find you self enjoying the game and making best out of it! Take uplinks in your jumpy scout and place those boxes up high.
Take out your proto logi from the closet and star wielding hives and links all over the place. Soon you realize that you make wp/stay alive and make profit.
I know... I did.
I play like a rich basturd and lose 1-2milj ISK in 1 battle and gain 400k from next 5 battles... I'm not super "rich", I have +130m ISK
Every enemy protosuit destroyed makes me happy, try it your self!

possible, if you end up in protostomps.... unavoidable.... i guess... but you'll notice fast enough where not to spawn again and take another uplink.

But my point is about new player experience. As you can see I'm well equip to proto stomp all day, but guys with low SP and isk are not. I just hope that the new "raid" helps in retention. |

Or take it a step further... a BPO logi with two slots of uplinks and an injector. Has a bandwidth of 16, that's four deployable uplinks at a time while you're carrying two more. Follow the battle to keep spawn-in distances to a minimum.
That suit costs me 6.4K ISK to run and I always make a profit and SP. Especially if I'm the only one (or one of a couple or three mercs) throwing them down.

I always see plenty of uplinks.
And if you run across the map just to die in 3 seconds, you're playing this like it's CoD. It would help to use some caution.

I do too. And I try not to play cod style But I'm referring to how somebody that's new to the game that might not know that running in and spraying and praying is not always the best way. |
