DUST Search - The main reason why passanger weapons should be fired from dropships

However, given the amount of rage that resulted from the previous state of Assault Dropships, I don't even want to know how much rage we'll be drowning in if players can fire their weapons from a Dropship.

ADS rage was only there because of excessive skill stacking on turrets. Which turned small rails into blasters. Same thing applies to small missiles. And if you put 6 people into a single dropship then it should take at least 3-4 swarmers to take it down cause you are fighting against a full squad.

6 people/full squad=
1 pilot
3 min logis with reptools
2 gunners

Cloud, this is not a good idea. Given how much regen you can get just from a single armor repper on your fit, having rep tools able to be used on the Dropship from inside it would basically make them invincible.

Keep in mind I'm not some aircraft hater. As someone who used to have 2/3 of my lifetime SP sunk into aerial vehicles, I don't see how this could result in anything other than infantry feeling like they can't fight back once again.

I mean, imagine a Myron with a pair of Assault Forge gunners on one side and a Small Railgun as the turret. You could paste tanks in seconds with that kind of setup and even do it from high enough altitude that fighting back would be nearly impossible.

On the other side you could just get some swarmers and take down the dropship. Another thing is firing a forgegun from a moving plattform would be extremely difficult. It allready is near imposible to hit anything with a small railgun once the dropship moves. Skill weapons like forgeguns would be insanely hard to handle. I make the scrubs scream and the vets cry.
