The new game mode is a welcome upcoming addition. Since there is no mention otherwise in the release overview, I assume it will be a Public Contract mode only.

I would have liked to see it added to FW as well. Available in Pubs and FW right off the bat.

When you queue for Ambush, you can be selected for Ambush or Ambush OMS.

Queue for FW, and you could be selected for Skirmish or Acquisition.

It would parlay the interest in FW from the recent event and maybe encourage more players to queue for FW.

Seems like a straightforward way to breathe more life into FW, reduce queue times, and bolster interest.

Initially, I expect most players to be queueing for Pubs after 1.1 to try out the new mode.

Assuming it's well received, FW queue times would increase even further.

I enjoy FW, and want it to prosper. Give it some love.

It could also be a good mode for raiding in PC. Every time the attackers capture the point, ISK from the defenders would be extracted and sent to the attackers' account. The attackers can keep this up until they run out of clones or decide to leave when they get a certain amount.

Personally, I'm just hoping we'll someday actually see Skirmish 3.0.

That way we could have a multi-stage assymetrical attack and defense game mode for PC and FW, and could keep Skirmish 2.0 in Public Contracts since it starts both sides off on equal footing.

While your idea and POV are cool, Eruditus (
VERY cool, actually), I suspect that Acquisition mode will be installed in the Public Contract section only. Without actually trying it yet, it SEEMS like a mode where organizing and hustling "as a group" as much as possible will get the best results in combat. And in spite of ALL the tons of hints Dust has been trying to give to players that "team-conscious movement on a Dust map is how you overcome most of the classic fps obstacles in the match",GǪ.
too many of us still need a LOT of help and education in that kind of gameplay.
So far, only Domination matches seem to be "rudimentary" enough herd loose players into focussing on a common target.

Acquisition reads like a way to help the 1st-grade students finally inch up to 3rd-grade activity. We need the educational help.

Universe of good wishes for the 49, especially CCP Eterne...
