And how is that, exactly? I've got two districts and they aren't even good enough to print toilet paper.
If you're saying that claiming a district will be reward enough six months from now then that's one thing. But you should at least be honest about the fact that PC is effectively pointless until then.

Recently I'm getting this vibe that the current design team is somehow under the impression that people PC for bragging rights first and in-game benefit second.
They are deeply confused if this is the case. Having a district is not a reward at all. Bragging rights aren't even a reward unless the player base is big enough for it to be considered some manner of feat. District ownership is a burden, and a pointless one. The only reason PC battles happen at all right now is because a few very enthusiastic teams use it as a bridge to challenge each other. There is no economic or in-game incentive to it whatsoever.
Dust is built on the concept of persistent, meaningful conquest of territory. I'm no longer certain that the word meaningful is being interpreted the same way between most of the playerbase and the devteam. Or at the very least, whoever wrote that.

At least there we get persistent, meaningful conquest of territory. I am not even joking if you think about it.
I can understand why you would say that but I'd have to disagree on that as well.
If you play both games then yes it has a benefit. Unfortunately that benefit is incredibly small as the only real benefit you see is eve-side. And even then, the market is saturated with faction junk. Its not worth the time it takes to plex grind in order to get that stuff then take the extra steps necessary to sell it. The profit margin is very low end compared to other activities requiring a similar time investment. Just solo mission running out in null will net you more than double the profit, even from the worst pirate faction. Ironically less people will be trying to kill you as well.
Furthermore, the more successful your faction is the more saturated it becomes, increasing supply while demand dwindles. It takes a very long-term kind of investment before you see a proper return on that kind of situation, and by then... yea, not worth it.

That almost sounds like the kind of strange, poor wording you would get out of a Japanese developer tbh.

No, the fault lies with CCP.
When I was young I worked a lot of retail. And my manager once told me that we had to set our store up in such a manner that assumed every customer was a waste of oxygen, whether it be from incredible stupidity or a desire to engage in some dubious activity.
Game design is largely the same way.
There were several ways they could have made things difficult for any corporation to hold larger amounts of land (such as diminishing returns), and all they had to do to stop district locking was issue a statement that any players who took part in it would be banned from the game. I've talked at length about this subject before and how multiple parties could effectively fight outside of a district to gain the right to attack it. There were a lot of ways the details on that could've been hammered out.
Instead, they killed the only incentive to actually hold land.
Now I'm more a fan of districts pumping out resources that can be used to make things rather than straight up isk faucets. So I don't have any particular problem with them making the switch over. BUT... the end result is we've had a pointless PC experience for a year now. It will continue to be pointless until there is a major overhaul.

If u went unchallenged provided endless isk for corpeations to stomp pubs endlessly. The fault lies will the players not ccp on this one. Their should be a different benifit like recieving random gear to be distributed by ceo and directors that would be a true benifit or slight sp or isk bonuses for matches or idk something practical. I'm all for getting rid of farms, but like CCP does so often. they fix one problem and create 5 more. Sure you stop 5% of the community from farming. But you decreased the income of 100% of the entire PC community in the process. most everyday line members just playing for the isk payouts. Now is the really the most effective way of doing things? I can't wait for PC 3.0 should hopefully fix a lot of things. Agreed they do tend to mess things up a bit lol but more than 5% come on. Isk pay outs for battle should be more I agree but as for district farming uh uh. I would be happy if owning a district gave better benifits like discounts for gear idk again something practical.
New Eden is centered around the concepts of economy, industry and destruction.
An isk faucet isn't industry, it damages economy, but at least it encouraged destruction.
Currently PC has nothing to do with industry, nothing to do with economy, and does not encourage destruction. Although it could be said that APEX is equally harmful to the game as it also takes a massive dump on all of these concepts.
Simply saying "Oh, give them a discount!" would be a very low level and non-interactive form of game design.

Simply saying "Oh, give them a discount!" would be a very low level and non-interactive form of game design. With resources you can introduce extraction and raiding, as well as industry being a no-brainer. With industry you can introduce the player market and there is your economy. Umm ok thats my point in your first comment in this post you said I have 2 districts not even good for printing tp. Like I just said resources reward bonuses or gear rewards like I just said are adament reasons to wanna own districts. From your first post you made it sound like you (allot of people are though for that matter) are just but hurt for not being able to isk farm. Im not opposed to different things besides isk being givin hell I promote that.
And your last post before this one gave a poor alternative.
Not providing information which leads to an assumption is a misunderstanding at the fault of the observer for not using his intelligence to fill in the gaps. I accept no responsibility for another persons inability to assess a situation.
Providing bad ideas right out of the gate is the fault of yourself.
We are both in agreement that alternatives to isk printing are called for. I am simply making it clear that your own idea was terrible and you should probably refrain from making another one. Are we straight?
