Been running mine with (complex suit):
High's
Damage mod (complex)
Damage mod (Krins)
2x Shield regulator (enhanced)
Shield extender (complex)
Low's
2x Plate
Regulator
But have found I really LOVE:
High's
3x Shield extender
2x Shield energizer
Low's
3x regulator
Both fits running rep hives. I see many complain about shields, but thus far I've had much success breaking engagement for 2 seconds or less to recharge 500+ shields. Purely focused shields seems quite strong. Lovin this 1.68 non depleted recharge delay! Considering maxing those other 2 shield skills now.

I've been running your type of fit recently on an advanced suit (not assault) and am loving it.
It is:
Advanced Caldari medium frame C/1
Enhanced shield ext. x 3
Basic shield energizer x 1
Enhanced shield regulator x 2
SL-4 ARR
N-7A MagSec SMG
Flux nades
Shotguns are made of a Scandium-Ruthenium-Boron enhanced alloy

Its a very good assault suit until you meet a decent scrambler rifle user. I have both amarr and caldari assault suits and ive wasted proto caldari suits in a blink of an eye with basic lasor infantry weaponery. I dont wanna nef the scrambler rifle, but maybe increase caldaris shields resistance against lasor weaponry.
Have you got anymore exploding carrots?

Its good but when someone is in back of me not moving I get shot at not being able to recharge my shields do to that blueberry and I die I kinda rage alittle.....

You need damps with dmg mods, otherwise you are stuck at only being great at high dmg, long range fights, while only being moderately good at close range fights because of higher ehp. (dampeners are almost useless at long range). You rely on long range surprise attacks, otherwise you could die in long range firefights, you get shot in the back because of poor scanning ewar.
if you use no damps and high regen fits, you are good at killing foes at long range, while being almost invincible at long range if you behave correctly.
etc.
caldari playstyles are good but sometimes weird compared to other traditional shooters.

Your cal suit feels pretty good untill you get into something else. I can do much more amazing things in a minmatar frame then i can in a proto cal, at least in this current build of dust. |

I like it for certain maps and game modes. I mainly use it for domination in the map with the pipelines or any other map where I can kill from a range and for everything else I use a Gal assault. . So for me it's more of a situational suit.

Underrated, but not too viable without as many Cx mods as possible. Utility mods need to be better, especially Basic/Enh.

It's my main fit... Been running it since the dawn of time.
Rechargers and regulators are your friends.
Skip plates. If you really need armor, use a ferroscale.
At least two Complex Shield Regulators and one to two Complex Shield Rechargers (or an Energizer).
Damage Modifiers are meh. With the Rail Rifle or Assault Rail Rifle, things just die.
Here's one fit I normally use:
State Assault ck.0
4 Complex Shield Extenders
1 Complex Shield Energizer
3 Complex Shield Regulators
State Ishukone Assault Rail Rifle
Kaalakiota Bolt Pistol
Flux Grenades
State Kaalakiota Nanite Injector
My FW fit, and it's pretty effective.
614 shields & 194 armor. Almost 50 shield hp/s
It's extremely agile.
Even if shields are inferior, this thing kicks ass.

Hate it because a Caldari suit can get pretty close to my total armour but I can never get close to a caldaris shields.

Love my Cal assault, I play those shields to my advantage. As long as I'm not out numbered/surrounded by scramblers or Assault rifles, my suit lasts me a good while <3
Not to mention It's hard as hell to kill me from a distance unless you do it in one shot, with those lovery shield regens

Minus the use of Dampeners ..using instead pes..what you just described is lr amar assault play style ..

Their isn't a shield mod that gives you more shield+recharge.
Shield users get a mod that gives them LESS shield + recharge.
Ferroscales more armour no stacking penalty.
Again, all shield extenders have a stacking penalty.
Basically at present to get the mod effects of ferro and reactive plates on a shield suit you need to fill 2 slots with an extender and recharger or extender and regulator where armour gets the benefit with just 1 slot usage. |

But that just it if you run a shield suit with no armor you will die instant to scramblers, flux will almost kill you.
And if someone hits you from 70-80 meters away with a SMG that does not hurt you at all or you jump a little far/up/down your shields stop regen.
A charge shot from a scrambler will remove ALL your shields, very likely kill you to, no rifles can do that to armor.
Where is the grenade that can bust up 1500 armor on suit, oh wait that's right they don't exist only shield busters do.
To those of you who claim to run a pure shield set up I only have 2 things to say, either your lying, or your dying.
I played Caldari assault ever since closed beta so i know what I talk about.

I feel meh. Its my second most used suit, but its slightly UP due to the ScR effect and Armor dominance.
All of mine tend to run:

Well, extenders aren't nearly as bad as they used to be. Though agreed they need some loving.
More variety in the low slot department, maybe tack on a few bonuses to regulator. Maybe tone down the SR damage profile (What is that profile anyways, 20/20?) Some further tweaking to shield extenders, small bonus to recharge, keeping negative to delay.
Personally, I've never messed with anything armor, so I can't comment much on how much better it is than shields. Even my heavy alt is running a caldari suit!
But thus far I am really liking going purely shield focused (on a pro suit at least). It fit with my playstyle using cover constantly at range. And even in close quarters, breaking engagement for 1.60 seconds is nothing to get a few ticks of shield in before you start back in. Lovin that recharge, seems like it's basically instant after taking damage.
