So lately I've been playing alot more after having a long needed break. I remember back a while ago we used to have a lot of framerate issues with only certain maps and certain tactics that would basically overload the hardware because there were so many animations permeating at once (nanohives around a supply depot tactic). My point being, since I've been back I've noticed alot more lately that even maps (bridge domination map or open gallente research outdoor lab with the mushroom tower) are framerate dropping really fierce even with no real emphasis on the players input and not too many map socket animations. On top of this issue, I'm noticing even certain squads or players seem to drop frames in 1v1 engagements out of no real effort on either players part to purposely drop the framerate. Anyone whose vs'd bell gator will know what I'm talking about. Can anyone explain to me what else in this game is causing these issues? Also is there anything else we can do outside of buying external hardware to improve the optimization of the framerate? Or are we just stuck with it? :(

A good start would be to select your server region and not automatic.

Actually I tried a lot of different things that helped before (turning off voice chat, deleting chat channels, messages etc) but I notice that lags and framerate issues are becoming more prevalent (can't remember when I played a whole match without a single lag/getting stuck etc).
I just gave up, like with sprint-glitch, wrong fittings, getting stuck on everything possible, not spawning, and all the other s*** that's not working in this game for ages... |

Delete mails, almost all chat channels, and the contacts you don't need. I did this and I played for awhile before I got my first bit of lag. You can also log out and log back in of dust after every match if you'd like, that helps. Pick the server where you are of course aswell. |

The list of things I've tried to battle lag are as follows:
- deleting mail - keeping server region to as local as possible (I'm an oceania player so lol @ me) - deleted and redownloaded dust - tuned down the textures to low as possible - transparency tuned down - reformatted and rebuilt ps3 database - deleted any unused game files on the ps3 - deleted psn mail - relogged into dust (still lingers after really bad framerate games) - turned off voice comms so i have no channels to talk in - deleted unused chat channels - minimized fittings so the game doesn't need to load as much - resetting router (probably does nothing)
Anything missing? >_< lol

Framerate lag isnt caused by ****** internet, its the ps3 trying to keep up. Maybe that guy has a lot of modules on his fit? My suggestion would be to replace your hdd, and check for any thermal issues.

Yes, I have seen increasinglt more lag on all maps over the last month. I had start to wonder if replacing the HDD would help but I don't wanna pay out for one only to find it doesn't help. I don't get this issue on any other online game (but have in the past - certain games are just prone to it I guess).

The framerate (and rendering) issues are a sign that Dust is out-growing the PS3, as those are only issues that pop up when the platform isn't powerful enough for the game.
Some details can be ignored

That has nothing to do with framerate issues It's just something I've tried
Deal with it

Make sure your running Nat type 2 in connection settings.
Alot of people have had success port forwarding for DUST through their router and then ISP if it doesn't forward through the router..
Apparently the better your PS3 and the server talks to each other the better the game itsself runs... Not even latency based. |

For me, it's simply an high latency issue. That's quite strange because framerate shouldn't be connected to latency in any way, but for some reasons looks like in Dust it is.
can you make a video of your issue? because, framerate drops are quite a way too general description.

Sorry I have no equipment for recording games outside of using my ps4's share option via twitch. I think there are a few older videos showing the same side effects of choppy framerate. But they were examples of old issues like people spamming hives on installations. But the effects are the same. So take what you will really But thank you for the advice :)
