Scrambler Rifles need to get toned down by a notch amount. Normally I don't buy into a lot of the scrambler rifle whining, but sweet maker the ASCR has made me pretty unhappy recently. Better than a blaster (slightly more kick though) at significantly longer ranges.
I actually also kind of pity you guys have to deal with normal AR's as well Mina. Been using the Pyrus in preparation for the impending ScR nerf and I shamefully love it.

Not in the slightest.
It's not that they are both but good at neither. It's that they can do both to a reasonable extend or do one very well.
That's more or less the Minmatar way. Sheer adaptability coupled with speed and high damage output.
If any race really requires more of its player its the Caldari. One sided tank lay out so is very predictable, moderate biotics and poor ability to improve said biotics/secondary statistics, wholly reliant on what's considered the less effectual tank type.

What if we were to just tone the scrambler rifle down a bit and have a dynamic damage profile. 20% to shields -25% to armor
I've never known why the damage profile has to be as static as it is as 50 hp of armor =/= 50 hp of shields. It doesn't need less damage to armor, it needs less damage in general. And by less damage I really mean less applied damage, because thats what makes it so good, is its goddamn perfect handling.
If it does slightly less DPS than the TAC AR it should be fine right?
