why does the marketnhave a pilot suit section when there arent any pilot suits. does the game have a pilot suit? are they rare/useful?

They were not implemented.
I don't think CCP knows exactly what they want pilot dropsuits to do

I believe a certain CCP employee said they looked similar to the Matari Scout, and I doubt we have enough RAM to implement it.

I think with the current state of AV, pilot suits buffing HP, fitting space, or damage, would be useful.
Maybe something like +2% resistance to X per level, or +5% HP to shields/armour per level would benefit vehicle users, alongside damage bonuses to other vehicles to keep vehicle vs vehicle combat balanced?
But then, I'm a scrub and what do I know!

It's there as another reminder of broken promises. If I were mostly a vehicle player I would think CCP was being spiteful, at least us infantry don't have a constant in-game reminder of the commander suits we'll never get.

Originally the idea was they would be specialized dropsuits for operating vehicles that had dropsuit skill bonuses towards vehicles. The empty market category has been pointlessly present for ages, they've been perpetually delayed since launch, and there's not much hope of seeing them
The category probably should have been removed from the market a few dozen patches ago |
