I left the game for about 3 months or so and I played again last night. What happened to heavies? It seems like its the worst suit to wear now. I get plastered by nearly everything on the field and snipers can now 1 shot me. Even when i was able to get into an ideal position to mow people down my HMG was getting beat by everything that came at me. I even managed to get behind players a few times and managed to lose out. what the hell. If i cant melt face at close range why even use a heavy suit?
Also how effective are hardeners supposed to be? I had a DS soak up 3 hits with my FG with hardeners on and i couldnt even tell that i hit them.

Games is changing for better.
Heavies with HMG are no longer killing everything within 35m. Though they still kill fast, just in more closed spaces like they should.
Hardeners got buffed. For good reasons.

If you left for 3 months, your aiming skills probably deteriorated. You probably need to aim better at 15m engagements, try to get a feel for what 15m distances looks like. 15m looks like 2 seconds of running distance, its not large, like it looks like in reality. |

Heavies supported by logis in PC were getting too many kills.
Pretty much by virtue of being a point defense suit in a game mode where its all about point defense.
Now, being the best point defense suit is unfair in a point defense game mode.
Ratatti said the AR should as viable as the HMG in CQC range, roughly 30-40m.
So the HMG got nerfed and so too heavies by proxy.
Redline for Thee, but no Redline for Me.

So heavies had 1 area where they were actually effective and specialized and that was too much? Hell all you have to do to kill a heavy before the nerfing was engage outside of 50m which most weapons can pretty easily.
Well dont complain about me busting out my scrambler again. I am proto in many weapons.

I get the guy likes numbers but why can he not see beyond them and consider the other factors
Metric used : kills per spawn
So your point defense unit, with logi support (repair and needles), resistant to splash damage (the thing that terminates clones), is killing too much
I'm waiting for the laser rifle buff, it's never used in PC, can't be that it's better suited to open engagements like in ambush
