Dont even bother there bro. It's been my main focus to have an actual conquest mode when skirmish 1.0 was removed and i was a beta tester, then when i was a player and then when i was CPM, and the lack of it is still something i point as a massive flaw with Dust even now that i dont play it anymore. It's even something we were hinted at like 2 years ago, and the return of skirmish 1.0 at FF13. Result of all this ? Void. Nothing. Nada. Que dalle We have a new gamemode coming out next patch: Acquisition. It's similar to domination, but the objective moves around as each side hacks it.
So yeah... don't talk about things you don't know anything about.

Laurent Cazaderon wrote:Nuff said. Please do read before quoting and failing to bash. It's a spin on an existing gamemode. Hell, most objective-based gamemodes are based off of King of the Hill. It promotes a different approach to earning a victory than domination; that's all that matters.
Players have been asking for a free-for-all ambush where there are no teams. That would be a different gamemode too. Are you going to **** on that one because it isn't 100% different?

Laurent Cazaderon wrote:I dont **** on anything. My only point is, always has been, and will always be that no existing or coming game mode fits Dust's ambition regarding planetary conquest, FW and such. No modes features a situation where you feel you're defending or attacking when it seems only logical when you're the "owner" or the "invader" of a territory. Dust 514 has a team of, what, 6-ish people now. You are creating gamemodes that would be possible for a team with a full team of artists, 3D modelers, programmers, etc. Adjust your expectations for what can realistically be attained with our current team.
TL;DR - It isn't CCP Shanghai's fault you are asking for Don Perignon when they are on a Korbel budget.
Laurent Cazaderon wrote:This acquisition thing sounds to me as interesting as domination was when it was announced. In the mean time, the first ever game mode that Dust ever had is still nowhere to be found and was the most fun ever featured in Dust despite obvious balance issues in its mechanics.
As for the SoonGäóGäóGäóGäóGäóGäó so hyped by devs Conquest Mode.....well. Please link me the quote from CCP Rattati or Rouge where they hyped a conquest mode. If the current management didn't talk about it, then throw whatever pie-in-the-sky bullshit you think you were "promised" out of the window. It probably won't happen. There is a reason they shitcanned the last CCP Shanghai EP: he was spouting a bunch of features and possibilities that are unattainable for Dust 514 (PS3).
Laurent Cazaderon wrote:Be glad with that acquisition thingy mate if that's what you fancy. As for all objective based game modes being based of king of the hill, there's a lot more than to a game mode than its base. Take MAG for instance which featured an actual progression in a battle. Or hell, PS2 which features the same feeling when attacking big outposts. Outposts that actually look like they're meant to be taken and not just big places where you spawn in and rush to grab stuff to shoot at the enemy's MCC and think "why the F did we not set a real defense here ?" MAG is dead.
Also, PS2 is on PC and PS4, two vastly better platforms. The PS3's hardware is ****; that and the small dev team are choking us out right now.
Laurent Cazaderon wrote:And please avoid the "don't talk about what u know nothing about dude" with me. Chances are i know way more (probably too much) about D514. I forum warrior pretty hard. I may not have every single detail of Dust's pre-beta history, but that doesn't even matter now anyway. As I stated above, the new management has tossed all the old "promises" aside and is developing Dust 514 with a realistic set of goals in mind. Dust's past is not as relevant as Dust's present and near-future.

james rains wrote: Acquisition sounds like an interesting gamemode. Keeping mercenaries on their feet and moving about, also instead of the objective being in one position for the match it would be constantly changing and opening for different sides of attack. I should think so. The emphasis will be less on logi + sentinel "Hold the line" style gameplay and more on the mobile scout + assault playstyles.
I'm excited for it.

JJ'S wrote:CCP is basing their development "Things to do list" based on random opinions in mass on the forums...
We should of had a survey sent out to emails that gave us some kind of item reward in game if you filled it out..
This survey should of went into detail about what features your looking for...
What would you see worth investing a few dollars into DUST every month..
What first got you into this IP..
What keeps you playing..
Etc...
The lack of data CCP has currently that they are then basing their development decisions on... Is laughable.. Specially for a company that largely runs off data...
CCP Shanghai is pretty much an advertisement for how bad CCP is getting as a whole. Customer surveys done in-house are usually riddled with errors and generate little useful data. Typically, a company would hire a third party to create and conduct a survey for them that guaranteed quality data. Dust 514 is not exactly being budgeted a ton of money right now so I doubt that will happen.
Also, lol @ customer opinion being used as objective measurement.
