Yep I give up
Dc'd while trying to collect war barge components again, then 2x while searching for battle this morning. Made it part way through 2 battles yesterday. I have to reboot and rebuild file data every time I dc. It's a colossal waste of time, and so disappointing I just can't take it any more. Factional was my favorite mode, but I haven't been able to play 1 game during this LP event.

Yeeessss!! Made it through another game. Although I did dc as soon as I got back to my Merc quarters, but I'll take it at this point lol
Yep an ongoing problem for me since February I've done a lot to try and remedy but nothing seems to be working so far. I've done days of logging the problem to see if there was any rhyme or reason. Can't figure it out yet. Amazing I finished 2 games today and am happy lol that's how bad it's been |

Haven't been able to play a game yet today. Dc'd from server 2x which is a nice change because the PS3 didn't shut down, but did once while searching for battle.
Deleting everything dust now, and going to restore file system and database and re-install and see what happens.
I last did this on the 6th of April
I also deleted just about everything else on the PS3 as well

Yeah I know but it's something to do lol. I've been since January and have done this multipla times as per ccp's instruction on my help ticket, but it hasn't helped yet.
I thought I read somewhere there was some hacking going on with their servers that's messing things up, but can't confirm that.
I just want to play lol. loging in to barely be able to collect daily so bonus and WB components, and rarely completing a game for a hacked key is getting old!
On the bright side I'm a lot more productive these days.
On the lame side my SP and LP levels have been severely stunted, which really used to **** me off.
Now I'm just numb and don't really care any more :)
I guess I'll just be happy if I finish a game. To bad today is not the day.
0 games completed.....uh started I mean, 2 dc's from the server, and 2 PS3 shutdowns. Pretty much out of patience at this point.
So I'll re-install and try later at some point.
I guess I'm slightly glad im not the only one, but it really sucks not being able to play a game I've put just about 2yrs into. I mean I know the game can work on my machine it has before........
I'll just keep waiting for a fix

I have just accepted this is the state of game play for me (signing in to collect daily bonus & warbarge components). This has been going on for 2 1/2 months and I've tried everything. I will sometimes get one game in. But usually DC from merc quarters or a few minutes into a game.

- Delete all of your old in game mail.
- Make sure you are in no more than 6 or 7 custom chat channels.
- Delete all of your contacts from your contacts list (if you dont mind this part, skip otherwise)
Try the game to see if it is any better.
If the game is still not great. Exit to the main ps3 menu and delete DUST 514 from your PS3. (All of your stuff is saved on CCP servers dont worry)
Now go to the PS Store and redownload DUST 514. Chances are the new latest client download is smaller and much better optimised than your older client.
This should help you now.

Thanks for the tip I'll give it a try.
I recently deleted and reinstalled the game on the 18th. Have Deleted chat Chanel's but not mails n contacts. Although my 3rd character on a separate PSN has no chats or contacts and maybe 4 emails.
I do tend to have better luck with that one but not by much.

Here are some possible answers to your plea.
First things first, I see that you reinstalled dust (or said you were anyway) so that should be off the table now. If the PS3 said it had to rebuild the database and file index that should not be necessary to do again. It will do that when you have to reset after a crash. If it didn't then read up on how to do that at playstation.com, it has helped others in the past.
How many chat channels do you have open? Write them all down and delete them until there is only four. Six works for me but many have issues. Four seems to be a magic number, nobody breaks with four chats. If this doesn't provide an immediate fix, read on.
The most common problem with dc (disconnects for those new to Dust) is network connectivity. Fancy name, means bad internet connection.
How are you connected to the internet? A hard wired Ethernet cable is better than wireless. Wireless is better than using a smartphone as a hotspot. Only play when your spouse (you said you have one) isn't binge watching Mad Men or The Walking Dead. Is someone downloading movies, or updating games on Steam? Yes, Payday 2's latest update was 3.4GB. The slower your connection the more like any of those mentioned will cause you problems.
Where are you connected, more accurately which server are you accessing from where you are? If you try using a server that is some distance away or has significant lag to your ISP the results will be unplayable. If you are in America but connect elsewhere try switching back to America. Or, alternatively try other servers where your friends normally play. I am in America but some friends put us into European servers when they are squad lead.
Run the network speed test from a PC for your ISP. Good to know even if the number is fine. That might be possible from the PS3 browser, I've never tried it.
A few last ideas, how loud is your PS3 when playing Dust? If it gets loud quickly then check to see if the air holes are blocked. Being on a floor with a rug or pets make this problem more likely.
Check the rules for your firewall. There is a sticky in this forum section regarding ports required for Dust and Sony.
Reset your firewall and/or router.
