What will games be like if all damage mods were gone. Anything that gives bonus damage gets put away.

But why? Why not just properly balance the damage modules we have?
Why cut more things from this game? The pre-Rattati team removed enough stuff.

Would make things sorta evenly matched if you were up against someone with the same weapon as you. I would assume it would come down to whoever has the better shield/armor mods.

I believe this was mentioned a while Back, but they were nerfed from 10% to 7% (for light damage).
I'm all for this, shows who can actually shoot as a oppossed to stacking mods and relying on brute force. |

I took on a scrambler user who droped me in 5 shots. Melts 600armor in 3 shots. Later in a combat rifle droped me in 3 bursts. I couldnt even use half my clip and I had the drop on them. Its too powerful for protos to use.

No, it wouldn't because then people would complain that some people have more health than others and dual tanking would be a thing again. |

People will always complain. It's a natural human function.

A heavy has more hp than my assault but I can still kill the heavy. Having more hp dont mean anything cuz a scout can one shot a heavy.

When it comes to efficiency, Shield module > Dmg module.
Dmg mods are mostly profitable for Amarr and gal cuz they have bad shield stats [regen rate, depleted regen time]

You're wrong. The Weapon is killing a sentinel, not a suit. Anyone is able to OHK them using knives.

day 1 closed beta
no proficiency skills applied yet to get boost , or skills unlocking dmg modifiers.
what's the point though? Why remove them, it's an easy skill and anyone can use them for all weapon types... |

This game is diluted enough.
I think the damage mods are good where they are, and if people want to invest the SP into weaponry to make them do more damage, I don't mind. Its a significant enough expense that people dedicated to certain weaponry should retain the right to have.
Pub MM has done a great job of sticking people of similar calibur together, so the SP difference isn't what it used to be.

Thanks to the Warbarge passive damage increase, damage mods may be packing a bit too much of a punch against certain classes in use with certain weapons. AKA ScR and HMG.

Rattati has been good about balancing weapons, and I think he can make adjustments to those if needs be.
ScR was OP before the WB, but just wasn't used enough to merit a reduction. Whether that changes or not, I am not sure.
