I feel that if my fit goes down in a blaze of fiery glory, then I too, will go down with it. To abandon a craft before its demise... though sound in the eyes of others, is an inner-insult in this Vehicle Operators soul.
Anyone else go down with his or her ship? A captain and her vessel... |

I go down with my dropship so I know the name and face of that which has slain mine dropship. Unto them, shall come down a righteous fury! |

Been encountering him a lot and I keep forgetting the one cardinal rule of fighting Duna. He always has help Well it's not like any logical tanker isn't going to have help. Some use cheaper tactics to give them and the help the upper hand, like having two gunners with proto AV and not leaving the redline except for when running two hardeners only to bolt back to the redline halfway through the hardeners to make sure they don't lose they're proto tank (looks in Mary's direction, I've seen you tanking many times Mary, never once were you without two gunners and leaving the redline to do anything other than pop killed agains tank is rather rare for you) and some, like Duna use an entire squad that he pays off in massive amounts of isk (which he gets from taxing the **** out of his corp members) all just to keep his 45k/d or whatever the complelely unrealistic number it is.
I leave the redline plenty unless outnumbered.
Then, I push out tactically.
Yes, I run gunners. Teamwork pays in DUST and tanking is no different. |

Obviously, you don't see me tanking much.
Or you'd know I open mostly with blaster and thrash as much as I can on infantry/tanks, falling back when outnumbered or gunned, then I bring in my AT tank and bust it up and switch back. |

As for Killed Again, instead of being a good sport, he **** talks to everyone.
I mean, he ran a squad FULL of tanks vs me once, and was SURPRISED when I took a defensive position in the back and let them pile in on me and die, one by one as I flank and spanked, having gunners watch overhead on their movements.
So I guess the slander has spread and people understand very little the full situation.
I mean -- is there a suicide lav running around? I am going to hang back, pop, re-engage infantry after LAV is down and repeat as necessary.
Is there a tank that is my direct counter? i.e. damage missile madrugar v. durability blaster madrugar, speed damage blaster v durability gunnlogi solo? If so, I fall back, re-assess, re-engage.
Are there multiple people working together, in tanks or full AV squad on a stomped pub match? Then I will fall back, allow themselves to trip up, and flank as the opportunity opens with rail.
I play tactically in pubs.
In PC, I play very aggressively and without gunners.
Also, if Killed Again is your bar for anything, you are playing this game wrong. |

I think it pushes a tank to its full potential to run with gunners.
Also, Duna runs with a full squad of tanks often. THAT is far 'cheaper' than concentrated teamwork on one tank.
My gunners can attest to the skill and quality of my pushes and my pocket-book can definitely show the scars I have taken. Fluctuating between 80-90 mil as of this patch lol.
Anyways, I don't see you often enough and you don't see me often enough to make any real summary of what I do. Just saying. |

Kallas Hallytyr wrote:I go down with my dropship, unless there's a very good tactical reason for me to bail with my Logi/Links. My HAVs usually die with me in it, because I don't really care about my KDR, I care about using my assets fully as much as possible. My only real gripe is that when I go down with my ADS, I rarely get to see what actually killed me, it's either "Player" (died) Halla Murr, or just (died) - no that's great, I didn't actually want the information I'm supposed to receive when I die
At least we have their name, and on occasion when the DUST gods permit, the weapon they used!
I like it when my drop ship gets shot down and then crashes into an enemy dropship, taking it down with it.
Anyone here lose an LAV driving through an invisible tank corpse? |

With this i have little to no respect for my MLT vehicles.
Well, of course. MLT vehicles are sad WP pinatas for the most part, unless someone is spamming double hardener/damage mod sicas to sneak up on you with of course. |
