Almost all Dust players use chat channels both for text chat, and for selecting people to invite to squads or send mails to. I know it might sound weird, but you don't actually need a contact list.

I wish it didn't take me 9 years to delete all my contacts though.

I wonder how many useless unused corporations are out there and if this takes up memory as well. Random blueberry plays the game for a month, makes a silly corp and logs off never to be seen again. Perhaps if a a Corp doesn't have a single active member for a few weeks delete it an refund the isk to the ceo.
I don't know much about how all this works though or if that'll help. |

While I'm thinking of potential ways to trim fat..
Perhaps players that are gone for a long time are taking up memory that doesn't need to be wasted. What if you haven't logged on in 6 months your toon is put into hibernation; retain skills, isk, necessary things etc. But delete all fittings, mail, chat channels, unnecessary things etc.
Idk just a thought. |
