So, DUST has become completely unplayable. 0 hit detection, latency that's somewhere between 2-3 seconds...
I shoot at a player and it shows them taking 0 damage. Then all the sudden a +50 will appear on my screen,... usually while I'm reloading my gun. Best yet is when my shots are off target, and I adjust my aim and the enemy dies as my gun if point 5m the the left of my target...
I can't be the only person having these terrible problems. Enemies not taking damage, Accruing 900 damage in less than 0.2 seconds from 90m... Being shot by people who have their back turns towards me... Having my shots register a fraction of the damage mathematics they are supposed to.
So, I'm trying a PS3 clean up and re-installing the game. If that doesn't work, then I have no choice but to just leave.
It's bad enough this matchmaking bullsh!t is making giving me 10-15 games losing streaks, but not being able to even fire my FG in under 5 seconds, or have my swarms take 1-2 seconds longer to lock on is f*cking exhausting. My weekly numbers have tanked. Instantly been reduced by 100%. Either I got bad over night, or everyone else in the game became god.
Has anyone else tried a re-install. Did it work?

I saved 1 GB of space and the game loaded faster afterwords, would recommend

Yes, it helps.
Some other things to try include:
Static IP for your PS3 on the router and open that IP to your routers DMZ mode. It means all ports are open and the PS3 has unfettered access to the Net.
Keep the number of open chat channels to 6 or below.
Cull your contacts list. When you open it the PS3 has to download it every time, which can contribute to client bloat, which brings me to...
Email. Get rid of it. I know you can get sentimental about hate mail but it causes bloat and in testing its been found to add a few FPS to the game by removing it.
Ethernet connection trumps wireless every single time.
Set Battle Server to automatic.
This should be obvious but it gets ignored still. Ensure the PS3 is well ventilated, with at least two to three inches of clear space around it. Never place it on the carpet and don't stand it on its end. Heat rises and if the PS3 is on its end the heat has more vertical case to get through before escaping the machine.
If at all possible do a full backup of the PS3 hard drive and reformat it prior to downloading Dust again.
More hardcore things to consider include to replace the HD with a SSD and to replace the thermal paste on the GPU and CPU (which I've done)
This video is a match I recorded less than a week ago. I have all the above done on my system and my FPS is as it is on that video all the time, be it Pub Matches, FW or even PC (on the few matches I've played).

i to had gotten so fed up with lag a couple weeks ago i went to the extreme. i rebuilt and defraged my hard drive, deleted all music movies and messages from my ps3, i deleted all most all my chat channels, i deleted all but a couple fittings i run, and re installed dust. i can say it helped with the lag. but that just goes to show my how poorly this game is made that i have to sacrifice a fucken goat and do a rain dance just to play a video game.

I did a reinstall, delete chat channels et al and it didn't do anything. The game makes calculations from the server, not the client so everything is a second or more off. This is why I can't run a ninja scout because things aren't really as they look until a second or two later. Experiment with this. Grab a heavy suit and hide behind cover. Come out of cover for one second and fire at a group of opponents and then duck back behind cover. You will see the latency.
