Pub Skirmish rewards gives gives currency enough to buy more fits than winning a FW match does at max standings. Losing gives a measly 20% of the LP that winning would give and 0 standing increase. On top of that, the risk is much higher, and because of that the incentive for FW is pretty low.
Indeed. There are very few incentives to play the mode if you are not a "loyalist" the reward compared to the risk simply doesn't amount to a great deal and there is little pushing players to squad up and win their fights. Without a sense of urgency you experience what Aero and I did on the weekend, us sacrificing a great deal to hold objectives and poorly equipped and unwitting mercenaries rushing into the meat grinder to clone us out.

Did you ever think that maybe people don't want to be wrecked by Vets since the matchmaking logic isn't applied to FW? Why play a mode you're certain to lose unless you're a Vet and will be losing thousands of ISK in gear? Unless you go starter kit....boring..
The issue is that you cannot apply match making as it is now to FW because of the fundamental purpose of FW and its smaller player base.
FW as I understand in EVE is an intermediary between High Security Space and Low Security Space in which the PvP content is clearly outlined for us. However it is also a place for very organised and dedicated groups to operate and a place where while PvP content is outlined it is not regulated by CONCORD or bound by an entitled sense of "Fairness".
I understand people do not want to enter FW to be stomped, I don't when I enter into FW, however FW is not another public match and it is not a place you should be going into the learn the rules of the game.

That's not the intent though.....however one has to accept that New Eden in supposed to be a sand box. In EVE once you step foot in FW as a new player you have to be prepared to face veteran and skilled PvPers with better skills and knowledge of their warzone. It is simply a zone which I see as meant for more organised and competitive players in Dust between Public Matches and PC matches.
If you want to do well you need to go the extra distance to do so from squading up, to using more competitive gear, and you need to be prepared to take a beating to win.
However that does not change that in most cases it's simply not viable to sustain oneself in FW nor are there any draws for it that makes it a popular game mode.
E.g-
Pubs- Quick, Cheap, Get you ISK and SP, and mean nothing. PC- Highly Competitive, Lucrative both SP and ISK wise, and allow you to contest districts in New Eden.
FW- As competitive as you make it, does not pay out ISK, LP rewards are low and do not translate well to ISK, no agency so districts are not contested and space/planets are not held.
