I tried search, but only got trade center links... can someone fill me in on why they are ranked as best? I have 136 of these things

It should be at least a one high and three low setup . That would make it more flexible and the cloak bonus should apply as well but it should only have one EQ slot . Racial purists will complain but the synergy is indisputable. And the breach SMG hits hard for a sidearm, sounds cool when firing, and the lower ROF allows you to engage a second target if need be without reloading. "Stay gold, Ponyboy..."

Compared to what the G/1 has today it gives up 2 equipment slots, 1 high slot, and 3 low slots (if memory serves) for a sidearm assault rifle and maybe some slightly better base stats. But it was added to the game back when the assault rifle was the only rifle, and the only two sidearms in the game were scrambler pistol and smg, heck I think this was even when the only scout suit was the gallente scout, so the high/low slots were slightly different than what they are now, and there was only one equipment slot back then too. Commando suits weren't even out back then. Also remember SMG, AR, and Scrambler Pistols all had different stats back then too, I dont recall if they were more powerful or less powerful than now but they were different. With this context in mind, here is how we can compare it to back then vs now. Back in the day "Hmm, the Assault rifle is the only rifle in the game, and wow! This is the only suit in the game that has the assault rifle as a sidearm and allows you to use either a shotgun or switch the shotgun out for another light weapon. Having an AR in my sidearm is much better than having a scrambler pistol or SMG. Nobody will probably see me with scans so I don't mind no low slots. This is cool." And now "Hmmm, well this does let you use an AR as a sidearm, but there are other rifles out now too and the AR isnt that great any more, its too bad I can't have one of them as a sidearm. But now there are commando suits and some officer suits that let you use two light weapons at once instead of being limited to a sidearm AR, and now there are much more sidearm weapons available to choose from so maybe I don't need an AR as a sidearm in my scout suit. I will likely be picked up on scans by many people as well so I won't be as invisible as I used to be, plus active scanners can be used to detect me. Only one high slot doesnt allow for much customization either compared to the different base stats of this suit vs the G/1." So in a long round about way, this suit is less special than it used to be. And either its base stats could use some re-working to make it fit better as a unique suit or its High/Low slots compared to the G/1 need to be re-worked and CPU/PG re-worked in order to make it a little more customizable.
