Why don't vehicles slide that much? I mean, a tank running at full speed and comes to a complete stop in less than a second? What if when you locked the tracks, you slid a few feet (just a few, not like ice mechanics) and decreasing speed rather than just stopping it would be more efficient? What if we could actually drift LAVs! Need For Speed 514! Plez?

DO you LAV? Most of my road kills are from drifting into people... You can easily jump away from the width of the car, but when the length is sliding towards you at high speed, you're pretty much fooked. |

Vehicles don't slide in this game. |

UmGǪ tank tracks? Maybe on ice and mud. Otherwise, it goes against the physics and purpose of tank tracks.

So you think a tank weighing around 60 tons (using the m1 abrams weight) traveling at 20m/s (72km/h or 45mph) on pavement could stop all movement in less than a second? Not arguing or anything, but how much friction do you think tracks have?

Probably the same technology that allows derpships structures to float, anti-grav to exist, and derpsuits to hit their inertial dampeners.

Also because it's more stuff to code into the silly engine. Good point, but it would still be fun.

Not arguing or anything, but how much friction do you think tracks have? well there are also the factors of: what kind of gravity is there? and the all present fact that this takes place in the year 22000 something so the tanks might be made of a very light (still very strong) space alloy. |

The universe itself is also different, space isn't empty for example in EVE, it's made of jello. Seriously, check out the physics on things from planets to stations to ordinance to ships to wreckage.
